Suddenly unable to use Starling card for charge method
Hi,
I received an email from Amazon this morning saying my charge method was invalid and to change it. Going into the change area (not flagged up anywhere on my account) it seems to only be Germany that’s the problem though I don’t actually sell there. I’ve recently changed legal entity so went through all the verifications necessary for that without problem. Dates are ok as new account for new company - and it’s accepted for all other marketplaces. All my accounts both personal and business are with Starling so what do I do? They are wanting to put money on to the card more Amazonpay rather than charge it.

Hello @ Chook,
Below you can review the most common issues with the credit card verification process:
Point 10 refers to your scenario:
10. My card is valid in some Amazon stores, but not in others. Why?
Your financial institution may only allow your credit card to be used in certain countries. As a result, you may see the same credit card being honoured by Amazon in some of our stores, but not in others. Contact your financial institution to determine the countries your card is eligible to be used in.
Did you try to contact your bank and check, if there are blockers from their side?
Kind regards,
Julia.

I had a problem recently with dispersements being stopped, message stated that I could only disperse once every 24 hours, in spite of not having done so for three days. The usual Amazon misinformation & automated gibberish as it turned out that I didn’t have valid card details added to the EU marketplaces, even though I don’t sell outside of the UK. When updating those details using a Halifax Visa credit card it was rejected for Germany. Spoke to the card issuer who told me that they had blocked Amazon Germany as it was considered unsafe. This specifically being Amazon Germany & not Germany as a whole. I then updated Germany with a Mastercard debit card instead.

@Chook, any update from your end?
Kind regards,
Julia.

I can confirm that my Starling debit card is validated and working on all EU marketplaces including Germany; I even disbursed from Germany this morning.
Not much help I know but at least it confirms the amazon statement above is not appropriate here.
