Customer Claiming Her Dog Damaged Item
A small beauty item to the value of £20 was understandably delivered through the letterbox by Evri because the customer was out.
The customer contacted me to report that her dog destroyed the item, but has reported to Amazon that the item arrived damaged.
The customer did not provide any delivery instructions with their order, or email me to provide delivery instructions.
Surely pet security and delivery damage is to the responsibility of the owner?.
I am personally more concerned about the dog.
Please advise, TIA

I’d say pet security and damage from the pet is responsibility of the owner but delivery damage is your responsibility as you can claim from the courier. Since its Evri and they provide photos, does the photo show it intact?
Through A-Z or returns?

Update: The customer has opened a return request for the reason ‘Quality Not Adequate’ which has automatically been granted by Amazon with a free return label. The customer has also attached a note that the item is unsafe for return which is out of the ordinary and they are clearly reluctant to return it.
Also just to add that it has taken 3 days for the customer to report this which is again unusual.
