Are Amazon Updating Shipping Estimates based on Royal Mail Strikes?
Hi All,
Does anyone know if Amazon are updating Shipping Estimates based on Royal Mail Strikes?
I have revised our Shipping Settings and handling time and it doesn’t seem to make a difference.
Do Amazon override your shipping settings?
Any advice is always welcome.

I didn’t alter my handling times this time round as they are striking 2 back to back days before the weekend
all my orders coming in at the start of the week did not reflect the strike days - with delivery expected tomorrow and friday therefore i have put holiday settings on
you would presumably have needed to extend your handling by at least 3 days to cover them

i’ve put handling at 3 days atm, and delivery at 3-5 days (5-7 where I could)

I just keep telling myself it will all be over soon - just got to make it through Christmas, then Unions lose their bargaining chip.
I’m all for postmen getting a fair wage, but this is just getting tedious now, even the postmen I’ve spoken to are fed up and can’t afford to strike any further, its getting to a bite off your nose despite your face stage now, both sides are at a stalemate, neither side is winning/losing, and its the businesses and public that are being affected the most, and we have no control over the situation!

I received this e-mail this morning -
Dear Selling Partner,
Due to expected Royal Mail strike action and related disruption to delivery services across the UK, we will be extending customer facing promises for all seller-fulfilled and seller-fulfilled prime offers during the impacted period. We will also protect Selling Partners from late shipment defects during this time. The strikes are planned for the following dates:
Thursday 24th November
Friday 25th November
Wednesday 30th November
Thursday 1st December
What you need to know ?
Given the delivery of shipments might take longer and exceed the delivery date we promise to customer, to maintain reliable delivery promises, we may therefore temporarily increase the standard transit time for shipments. These adjustments will lead to an extension of delivery promises that customers see on the Amazon website. It will not change the handling and transit time settings in your Seller Central account that we request our sellers to set as reliably as possible to reflect the expected time. Please bear in mind the following best practices when managing your operations:
Inform your carrier(s) of volume forecasts and demand changes in advance. If possible, you could consider using multiple carriers to ensure you can ship products out on time.
Provide Valid Tracking: Knowing the status of a shipment is key for customers. Ensure you provide correct tracking information and provide regular updates if an order is delayed beyond the expected delivery date.
If you are not able to process customer orders at all, please activate the “on holiday” feature in your Seller Central account in ‘Settings’ under ‘Listing Status’. This will de-activate all your seller-fulfilled offers. Note that you must still process and ship all orders you have received up until you activate the “on holiday” feature.

….And surprise, surprise all Amazon’s own offers remain on next day. We get padded by an extra day and don’t even use Royal Mail. Protect themselves, forget about the third party sellers that actually make Amazon their money.
