Verification nightmare
Please find below a copy of an email I sent Anna of the ‘Escalation team’ :
Dear Anna,
Thank you for kindly replying to my concerns about the repeated demands for ‘verification’ of my account. I have supplied the required documents (driving licence and utility bill details) but I expressed some unease about supplying my bank account details (to someone anonymous) especially since I have been selling books through Amazon for some 15 years using the same NatWest bank account.
I have now had another demand from Seller Support demanding that I supply my bank account details which contradicts this message I previously had from Seller Support on 24th June 2020 : ‘I would like to inform you that you are not requested to provide your bank account details as you already have a bank account assigned to your Amazon account’ …
It seems that my Amazon seller account is now frozen unless I send my bank account details to an unnamed person purporting to be from Seller Support - or a ‘Verification Team’ . I have orders I need to post today, but am unable to do so until I am confident about my seller account status.
Frankly, I am amazed to receive contradictory demands to ‘verify’ my identity when I have been selling in Amazon for some 15 years - and have complied by forwarding the required documentation . It seems that some in Amazon think I am applying for a new account, while others understand I am already registered as a seller.
I would be grateful if someone could kindly look into this as it is utterly exasperating, time-consuming and is now holding up fulfilment of my recent orders.
Regards, John Ormowe (ivanpavlovitch’)
After I emailed Anna I had this message of the 24th June saying : ‘…you are not requested to provide your bank account details as you already have a bank account assigned to your Amazon account.’ I thought this had resolved this issue, but I am now facing more demands that I forward my bank account details, when I have used the same NatWeest current account with Amazon for some 15 years ! I have already forwarded details of my driving licence and utility bill as requested, but why should I have to give out my bank account details when Amazon already has this ? Please can someone sort this out as soon as possible as I have orders to post ? It seems that one part of Amazon accepts I have been registered with them for such a long time, while another part assumes I am applying for an account !
