What are the chances of receiving a neg?
I’ve just had my first return under the new pre-paid postage system and like a lot of you I’m not impressed by the way this has been set up.
I watched the webinar where Amazon said you can deduct the return cost from the refund if it’s buyer fault (which in this case it is).
Amazon say it’s good to let the customer know if you are going to do this.
My question is, don’t Amazon warn the customer or do they just expect us to do the dirty work? And what are the chances of getting a neg? Has anyone had any experience?
I hope I’m wrong but it seems to me that Amazon have set this up in such a way that the customer expects to get a free return and then we have to decide whether it’s worth bursting their bubble and risking a neg.

Have they given the reason as something that’s buyers fault?

As far as I know from someone who used the same reason, amazon doesn’t tell them

Then they change it to unauthorised purchase instead, I mean loads of hackers go into people’s accounts and order a thank you card :-/

I believe Amazon do show customers the return postage price when they select a reason that allows the seller to deduct the postage. We’ve had a couple of customers contact us about this saying the charge is high we reply that they can use their own alternative form of postage rather than the Amazon supplied label
We process refunds every day and there are always ones where we can deduct the postage. We haven’t yet received a neg from a customer about this, though I’m sure one day we will
