Company abusing transparency act

Dear Amazon and the Transparency Program Team,

I am writing to bring to your attention a significant concern regarding the implementation of the Amazon Transparency program by SkullCandy, which appears to be in violation of the program’s intended purpose and policies.

Some of the included ASIN's:

B0B64C7S7Y, B0B64DG57C, B0B64CRPLR.

As a seller on Amazon, I fully support the Transparency program’s goal to ensure product authenticity and protect both sellers and customers. However, I have noticed an inconsistent application of transparency codes on SkullCandy products.

It has come to my attention that SkullCandy is applying transparency codes exclusively to units sold directly through Amazon and not to products distributed through other sales channels. This selective application seems to contravene the spirit of the Transparency program, which is designed to ensure authenticity across all retail platforms, not just Amazon.

This practice not only affects the level playing field expected in the Amazon marketplace but also undermines the program’s credibility, as it appears to be used as a tool to restrict marketplace competition rather than to verify product authenticity.

In light of this, I respectfully request that Amazon reviews the requirement for transparency codes on SkullCandy products until such a time as SkullCandy adheres to the uniform application of these codes across all their distribution channels. Ensuring that transparency codes are used uniformly will uphold the integrity of the program and maintain trust among Amazon sellers and customers alike.

Thank you for considering this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and am hopeful for a resolution that supports fair competition and genuine product verification across all platforms.

”This selective application seems to contravene the spirit of the Transparency program, which is designed to ensure authenticity across all retail platforms, not just Amazon.”

As far as I know, the transparency program is for products sold on Amazon only.

PS this a forum for sellers, not a direct line to Amazon.

Be realistic, based on Amazon's approach to any other issue. Even if the program is being abused, its highly unlikely anyone at Amazon is going to care or take any action.

Seller support cant even change a listing photo for a health and beauty product from being the image of a suitcase, so if you're attempting to address this through proper channels, you're wasting your time.

Lets also think of it this way, is Amazon making more money by being the only seller able to get that stock on the platform? If so, do you think they will change anything?

Hi,

1, This is not how to contact amazon

2, Amazon won't care and / or do anything

3, Transparency codes are for amazon only, nothing to do with any other site.

4, Amazon has never been a level playing field

5, Amazon won't reply to this but you can expect other sellers on this seller forum to reply with similar comments

Regards

Keep in mind that unless a product is enrolled in Transparency from the outset, there will be inventory out there that does not have T-labels. Also keep in mind that any brand going to the trouble of enrolling their products in Transparency is most likely wanting to control the sales on Amazon and do not want retail arbitrage sellers undercutting on their ASINs.

If you look on the USA seller forums, there seems to be a drive by Amazon to work more directly with brands resulting in many sellers being asked to provide a letter of authorisation from the brands they wish to sell otherwise they cannot sell the item. IMO this is a good thing, but obviously some sellers are getting worried.
