Other platforms

Hello,

I really need some advice. Amazon is just getting quieter and quieter. I am currently on maternity leave and need to do something otherwise i am going to have to try and get a job to fit around my partners work. Does anyone have any other advice on other selling platforms. I have 14000 listings on amazon but seem to sell minimal. Ideally looking for a platform that isn’t too time consuming to list on. I also am a seller on onbuy but that is very few and far between.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Perhaps make you own website and use facebook advertising.

Ebay work fantastic for me. You can promote your listing to start ranking high and the cool thing is you only pay if someone ends up buying the product, not PPC like Amazon

The obvious one is Ebay. I dont know of any other platforms that do anything other than provide occasional sales.

Your website will most likely rarely be seen. So I don’t recommend going down that route.

onbuy is a waste of time. 1 sale in 6 months. Facebook also useless. £30 in advert fees in 1 day and not 1 sale. ebay and Amazon are the only real options for online sellers. Starting your own ecommerce website is really time consuming and unlikely to give you any significant sales as search engines always put the most popular websites at the top of of search pages ie ebay and amazon. It is really hard to get a new website that sells stuff that is also available on the 2 main platforms up the search ranking. Sorry but times are hard. To much competition. There is only room for so many sellers to make a living in the online world and with so many sellers trying their luck sales are being diluted for each seller.

You have 14000 listings on amazon…but seem to sell minimal.

Something seriously wrong there.

You should be selling approx 1%-2% of your total listings per day

Thank you for all your help. I have thought about ebay i do have a few items on there but hardly any. Only thing i dont like about ebay is there way of listing it takes sooo long. Anybody have any opinion on Instagram? I have never used it myself even on a personal level but i have heard it is a good way to sell things just not too sure how it works.

It depends on lots of things season/competition/category/prices/Buy Box % etc.
In my busy time Spring/Summer I sell 50 - 100 items daily on Amazon from 22 listings.

run your own website and make sure you promote your email list and get people to sign up.

you email list will be the most profitable way of advertising. If you have a woocommerce store then mailchimp has a plugin and you can offer a discount to people who sign up to your list.

Apart from your mailing list you can get active in social media and advertise on Facebook or post to buy and sell groups on Facebook.

The days of posting something on Amazon and sitting back for profit without active marketing is over.

If you would like to increase your sales by expanding to different selling platforms, firstly try other Amazon marketplaces such as DE, FR, IT, ES or sign up for additional accounts in North America and Japan.

Apart from Amazon, you could also sell on eBay, Ecrater, Bonanza, Etsy or your own website.

The platform is clearly not the issue here. 14 000 listings and no sales, there can be so much wrong.
Try to find out why are there no sales and if you really need that many listings and then look into other platforms. If you don’t fix it it will likely be the same there.

With that many products, a website will work well, but that is more time consuming.
