ASIN has already been claimed by another representative of the brand

Hi,

Has anyone faced this issue?

We are the brand owners and have brand registry however we are unable to update the any of the information, despite having full rights to update the product detail page.

Amazon tell us that the ASIN has already been claimed by another representative of the brand and they recommend us to reach out to the winning brand owner for consideration.

We are the only seller of this product. Did anyone else manage to successfully resolve this issue? Seller Support is not willing to help me at all.

Following on your post. Could you provide us case ID related to this matter for us to have a look?

Any assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to our support channel.

Hi,

We were in the same situation. I found out that the 'other representative' were still ourselves but selling in a different marketplace ( for example we had issues in the USA but the winning brand were ourselves but selling in Japan or UAE). This was a huge problem for us (and still is) as we couldn't update our images as we wanted. Using flat file helped with it but still we have some old images displayed and no solution provided by amazon to resolve this.

Good luck.

Kate

Hi everyone,

After years of running into the same issue—and getting nowhere with Amazon support—I think I’ve finally figured out the cause.

There’s an important distinction between ‘Rights Owner’ and ‘Brand Owner’ roles. You won’t actually see a ‘Brand Owner’ role in Brand Registry, but there is an ‘Administrator’ role.

I just discovered that my ‘Brand Owner’ account had both the ‘Administrator’ and ‘Rights Owner’ roles assigned. The ‘Rights Owner’ role does not have permission to edit listings.

The fix:

Check your account roles in Brand Registry. If you see that you have both ‘Administrator’ and ‘Rights Owner’, remove the ‘Rights Owner’ role, leaving only ‘Administrator’.

Also, make sure that only one account in Brand Registry has the ‘Administrator’ role.

Let me know if this works for you! :)
