Read onlyHello everyone,
In order to reduce my FBA fees, I have designed a smaller and very different packaging with my supplier.
My question is simple: Can I send new stock to Amazon using the new packaging that is very different from the previous one, or will they be surprised to see that the packaging has completely changed from the previous that could generate a problem?
I know the stock will get mixed up but I will then have it re-measured when the old packaging stock is sold (I'll follow that through the inventory age).
Thanks for your help on this matter,
Best,
In my opinion, I would wait to sell out of the old style packaging first and start fresh with your newly designed packaging. Are you able to change the sizing on the listing when Amazon gets the new stock?
I don't believe that has come to the UK/European marketplaces. YET!
What type of barcodes do you use? Amazon or Manufacturer barcodes?
You could create another SKU for the items in new packaging, change barcode type, this would let you identify the products in the old type packing and you would know for sure when they run out.
I'm not sure if Amazon product measurements are specific to the SKU or ASIN, maybe you could ask Amazon.
Once the old stock is sold out, you could send the product in it's new packaging in on the original SKU, and get it remeasured.
You're right, it's for Pan-EU. One more reason not to participate in Pan-EU. Endless costs.
we were sending boxes with 6 products in a carton there charges were about £9.70 amazon repackaged on there own box an send them out
we decided to packaged them up in singles ready for them to go straight out of the fullfilment centres
unfortunately the price remained the same. Also so difficult to get amazon to change the pricing
I have changed the size of my product multiple times before. That being said i'm not saying it will work for you. I tried to aim my new shipment as my inventory was close to running out, it's a top selling ASIN so I didn't want to risk stock out. I then left it about 2 weeks and opted for a remeasure of each variation. They measured the new 'box' and the size and FBA fees of my product changed.
