Product ASIN/EAN Error
First off, we use Channel Advisor to send our info across to Amazon. We are listing a product with an EAN 4007817053799 (and is colour Dolphin Grey) - in Manage Inventory its uploading against ASIN B07NLQTPH3. Only thing is the EAN associated with this ASIN is 4007817053751 and all the info is related to the same product, but in colour Violet. So one, we can’t work out why we are listing on that ASIN as the EAN doesn’t even match, and, thing is, we can’t change the barcode as the packaging of the product has the barcode on it - Amazon is incorrect. But they won’t change it, they refuse to accept they are wrong.
We had sold around 10 blocks of the wrong colour to customers one day and obviosuly only realised when we got the complaints in that it was the wrong colour. We couldn’t stop listing as that would mean we couldn’t request a change, so we’ve had to increase the price to stay on the listing, but still Amazon won’t change the listing in the face of clear evidence that the listing is wrong.
There is actually a listing for the Dolphin Grey colour, but that has another, completely different barcode, so we can’t even get onto that ASIN.
Anyone had this issue elsewhere (I imagine the answer is yes!) We’re thinking the next route is to speak to the manufacturer directly to see if they can speak to amazon.

“should be” yes.

You should open a ticket with Channel Advisor as this is their fault or at least the issue was caused by their software linking your item to the wrong asin.

We already went through that route, as generally its less stress if Channel Advisor can fix it. But here, the EAN is correct in our system.
Channel Advisor are passing over the correct barcode and that is what they are attempting to map to - but the EANs are incorrect on the amazon listing(s) and we can’t even see why we are listing on the ASIN we are on, as the EANs don’t match. We’ve triple checked the barcodes on the packaging, they are definately correct! We can’t change the barcode but Amazon are refusing to acknowledge a barcode may be wrong.

Channel Advisor will have a fallback, if it can’t match the ASIN it will likely try the SKU next. What is the SKU on the incorrect item compared to your item.

Just to confirm, what are you referring to by SKU? There is a SKU on the ‘Offer’ tab in the Product Inventory Edit Screen - but it’s our internal SKU for the product - this would be different for every seller surely?
There is a Manufacturer Part Number on ‘More Details’ but again, ours is correct for the item we are sending - but it doesn’t match the one on the ASIN we are linking to.
Just at a loss as to why our product is on the wrong ASIN - cannot tell at all - think we might discuss it with the product manufacturer next as they also have an amazon contact and I think a Brand Registry

I don’t use Channeladvisor but I use a similar program
I always do the listing on Amazon itself, then create the product on my system, using the SKU amazon supplied me with as my SKU (which I then use across all selling platforms), when I come to my Amazon linking I tell them the ASIN.
Hasn’t messed it up yet, but then different system so not sure if it works the same.
Surely you can map to ASIN because sometimes on Amazon there are mutliple ASINs for the same EAN. so surely it doesn’t do eeny meeny miny mo?
