Can I send 2 separate orders with 1 buy shipping label

A customer has sent in 2 separate orders , both for same address. Can I post them in 1 parcel using buy shipping or must I send separately using 2 labels?

You should really buy two labels.

If you were posting off Amazon (Ie on click and drop) you could have just copied the delivery confirmation number over to the 2nd order and it would have worked, however with buy shipping there is no delivery confirmation number and the orders are exempted only if buy shipping is used.

what service did you use off amazon and how did you enter them ?

I use RM48 on C&D and notice that when they come through to amazon, they are set as Std UK DOM 1 (or 2 depending on region)

I specifically checked an order before where a customer had placed 10 separate orders with me, I posted it via my 3rd party software who uploaded the same tracking number to all 10 orders, it did not show up on my VTR report as it was one of the envelopes that Royal Mail actually scanned on delivery.

Is it possible that your parcel just didn’t receive a scan by coincidence?

I’ve done it.

This was using Evri for shipping, not bought via Amazon. I put the same tracking number against both orders. I don’t know whether VTR kicked off about it or not. If it did it can’t have been enough to bring me below the 95% as I’ve had no emails.

It works if you use DPD purchased direct from DPD and manually upload tracking, no effect on VTR. However I suspect a clamp down so stopped doing it.

Post as one shipment, then copy and paste the tracking to the 2nd order.

Done it many many times without any problems

We used to do it regularly, but had a customer complain that they had only received one item and as we could only provide one tracking number for 2 sales, CS gave them their money back despite the tracking clearly showing a large parcel containing both items. That mistake cost us over £100 as it was an expensive item so never done it since just in case. I know the majority of customers are honest, but unfortunately Amazon CS don’t do anything to discourage the dishonest ones.

Recently Amazon has started disallowing the same tracking number on 2 orders… even if customer is the same - you get the ‘Duplicate tracking number - already used’ issue
