Amazon Invoice for B2b Customers

Hi Guys,

I have a sold a product to a customer and now Amazon emailed me saying i need to upload an invoice. I’m not actually registered yet as a sole trader or limited company, so im not even VAT registered.

1.is there a template invoice out there i can, maybe from amazon seller central?

  1. should i just be stating the subtotal of the product without any VAT?

It is mandatory to upload an invoice/receipt for all business customers regardless of if you are VAT registered or not.
Many of us use www.invoice-generator.com - easy to use. Amazon do not provide a template.
You need to download the invoice then when you click on the upload invoice tab on your shipped orders page, click on browse and find the invoice on your device and upload.
The details you include are the total selling price and postage paid ie. the total amount the customer has paid. Do not even mention VAT if you are not VAT registered.

If you are a business ie. buying items to sell on, you need to be registered as such with both Amazon and HMRC. You don’t have to be VAT registered - will depend on your turnover.
