Changing to a LTD Company

Hi

I’m planning on changing from a Sole Trader to a LTD Company this month.

Can anyone advise if this is a difficult process with Amazon? I’ll have all of the correct documents, new bank accounts etc…but I’ve read that Amazon can suspend selling whilst it’s all being approved?

Thank you

Don’t do it until after Christmas.

Re-verification can take months and your account will be inactive while they do all their checks.

Hiya.

I was in your shoes this time last year and I was put off by the amount of posts I saw stating that this process can cause account suspension. I wrote to SS about the way to go about changing with no issues and they advised I did not change any details before contacting the correct department first. I’ve added a link to a post i’ve already written on the process (“Here’s one I made earlier”)

Short version, I was verified before I even changed any details and the acceptance was instant.

All the best,

2MC

Haha they are so bad at times :see_no_evil: how should I go about making the request then? Do you think I should email the verification team or ask SS again for the correct process?
Thank you

No it’s not, all you need to ensure is to have all detailed information are in your company name. if anything is off key you may encounter some issues. My transition went smoothly I panicked on the last stage where you have to select you entity to privately own something I can’t remember. I have to call my accountant to confirm.

I started the process in Jan 2021, and it took over 6 months.

Run down your account using Holiday, so that you can get any money they owe you out before you start it.

Only kick of the transfer if your account health is clean, as they will notice any issues soon as you try to change Legal Name.

Seek your own profesional advice, but do not forget that you can claim back VAT on anything for your business in the period before you start trading on that name.

When i changed over, they didn’t stop me from selling, but they did stop receiving payments. So i would wait 2 weeks after Christmas still so you get paid.

We have literally changed our company from ST to LTD and attempted to update our Amazon seller account (last weekend) and ‘oh boy’ it did not go down so well as we should have sought guidance from amazon first (we were deactivated for 24hrs). If you can wait until after Christmas (just incase you may need time to collate all documents to present to amazon) Gain as much information as you can before making the change.

it took us 30 minutes, no issues at all. Just make sure you have everything ready as going bank and forth with incompetent seller support is what delays it.

Thank you  how do I even start the process though, as SS keep telling me the wrong information

We had no problem, the verification process was almost immediate!
