First time listing. Creating a multipack

Hi,
I’m having trouble listing a product. It has EAN number which i listed as product ID but I also want to sell it in a multipack of 12.
I have created a package quantity variation, but I am struggling with product ID.
I thought I could use ASIN but i dont know how to create it.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you

The original product should be listed using it’s EAN code and then you will also need to obtain barcodes for each separate variation advertising a different quantity.

You will need another EAN for each variation of the original.

Depending on the category you can use the ‘package_quantity’ attribute for a variation, so your original ASIN can be value ‘1’ and your multipack can be another value. ( > 1).

It’s very hit and miss which categories will allow or properly support this value, in my experience.

Depending on the BRAND of the original, and roles appointed by Brand Registry, you may not be able to use an EAN to create the multipack.

You cannot create an ASIN. The ASIN is an identifier code assigned by Amazon when a product page is created. If a product has a barcode, with a GTIN, EAN, UPC or ISBN, that should be used when listing, to ensure that all sellers’ listings for the same product end up on the same page in the catalogue. In some categories, Amazon will allow the creation of variations on the item shown on the main product page (eg differences in colour or size). They may not always allow the creation of multipacks. If they do, you will need to purchase and use a separate GTIN for each multipack quantity.

Thank you for your answers.
I’ve watched a video on YT where someone was creating a multipack and used an option use Amazon barcode, then printed it off and stuck to his multi pack. I now realize that, that was in US and I guess rules are different in UK marketplace.

Hi
I have just tried to create a multipack in the Health section (as variations are not allowed there). I went on the listing, clicked on copy listing, added a new EAN code, changed the description to pack of 2, added a picture and I have now ended up with a new ASIN.
I’m really confused as well. I see tons of listings with different options in the health category.
And my listing is supressed as well, not sure what that means.
Thanks

you need to sign up to gs1 to get new eans

I have a GS1 account with something like a 1000 eans or maybe I shouldn’t enter a new ean code. I really don’t understand how to create a multipack.
Does someone know the “procedure”. Do you need to start in the manage inventory page and then click somewhere?
