Controlled By Brand Owner Farce - Not Owned By Brand Owner
The number of issues i have with incorrect product details , That Amazon state our controlled by the Brand owners , which I know are not .
Amazon refuse to do anything about it , even with a letter from the real brand owners, who state that they have nothing to do with Amazon.
I use to just give up , but this is effecting to many of my listings now.

The term brand owner on Amazon is wildly thrown around.
Unfortunately it doesn’t actually mean the brand owner in the literal term (as in the owner of the brand name)
It can also mean the person who created the listing, who ironically is the one who put the incorrect items on the listing in the first place, it can also mean Amazon who like to make a mess of the catalogue and blame the “brand owner”
I have an item I’m trying to get the brand name changed on, its a birthday card, so not a generic Chinese item that 100 different people have branded their own. It is a genuine branded item with the brand name permanently affixed by a well known brand, it looks like whoever has made the listing has used their own brand or shop name instead of the actual brand name - either to get around brand approval or by accident when copying a listing.
Amazon can’t change it because the brand owner controls the page… Even though I can prove that the person they are asking has lied and, possibly illegally, attached their brand name to another companies property.
I have been in communication with this company before regarding listings on Amazon, letting a LOA etc, and they have told me on numerous occasions that Amazon is a minefield and they want nothing to do with it, and wished me luck dealing with all the hassle. So I know for a fact they are not asking the genuine brand owner…

I sympathise.
Often Seller Support call the brand owner as the person who controls the listing. This is normally the person who first listed the product or someone who has managed to take control and make changes to the listing.
I have a few with incorrect product details that I can’t change. This leads to increased returns and customer disappointment. For example some pyjamas that I listed correctly and another seller has somehow changed the details to be 100% cotton when they are not. I have had a couple of returns as the pyjamas contain polyester which upsets customer. The returns are fine and I understand why the customers are disappointed.
I am now being told the brand owner controls the listing. The brand is ‘Paw Patrol’ so I know 100% they have no control over the listing.
I also have loads of cards that have incorrect details which I can’t change…it is a total farce.
It would appear Amazon would prefer to have an incorrect catalogue than let trusted sellers be able to correct problems.
Amazon really need to treat brand owners as two types. Brand owners who sell their own distinct range on Amazon and do not supply to anyone else should rightly have their listings locked down. Brand owners who distribute their products to others to sell on Amazon should allow listings to be challenged and changed. How you differentiate between the two is another problem.

The good old days were
Open a case, upload a photo of the product, link to manufactures website and what needed amending. And if must a copy of invoice and was generally done 99% of the time.
Amazon has created this run by auto bot culture or humans that have not got a clue or authority themselves to help.
They have as others have said created this mess. If something does not change what will amazon be like in say 3-5 years it will be a horrendous website to buy from. (If isn’t already)
