I have stopped selling
For 22 hours I have not sold anything whatsoever, not a bean. I am still a fairly small business but on average I sell a once or twice an hour. January has surprisingly been fairly busy but sales has slowed down in the past 10 days or so, but I was still selling about 20 orders a day. Until yesterday afternoon when everything went quiet. My account has a clean bill of health and I still have the buy box for all my bestsellers, altogether 32% buy box. I haven’t run out of stock. Is it just the sudden beginning of the recession or something else that I can’t see?

I think we all get days like that; there’s never anything that explains why, it just happens. Then everything boots off again. Hopefully, it will just be one of “those days”

The buy box % that shows on Seller Central is irrelevant, I don’t think it’s ever worked.
Having the buy box for the listing is fine, but are they the only listings for that same item (irrelevant of the actual brand)?
For example “XYZ TeaCups” on one listing “ZYX TeaCups” is another listing, but the products are identical.
You’re buy box on one listing doesn’t mean that the listing itself is being given the priority.

For example… My daily sales plotted for the last 30 days.
Highest point to lowest point, deviation is no more than 15%, on a typical day the deviation is closer to +/- 5%
Statistically, that’s “Improbable” at best.
The same patterns seen over months and years and you’re heading in to lottery-winning figures.
Edit: +1 to @NEil for the SellerBoard tip that made seeing that graph extremely simple.

I have exactly the same today. I have even about started the same topic! All my Buy Boxes with me, but so quiet…. Only one sale today.
So, you are not alone.

Understandably, if you are used to selling more than this I could understand, but we can go 22 days without selling anything on handmade, we stopped bothering for a while, but have put our stock back to positive a few weeks ago, still waiting for the rush !

its really weird for me as well , for the whole jan i was very low on daily sales , normally i was daily selling around 10 plus units as small business but jan whole month it was around 2 0r 3 units i had aggressive ppc but those were clicks but no conversion strangely , i dont know its me or others also observing the same

Try reducing some (or all) prices - even if just by a penny. Sometimes it stimulates sales. Prospective buyers may have your items in their shopping basket - so when they see a price drop (even if just a penny) it may encourage them to buy.

February can be a tough month - the theory is that people got everything they need/want at Christmas, spent all their money and got the credit card bill on the 31st Jan. Not to mention the collapse of Royal Mail international postage now in it’s 4th week and the prospect of more postal strikes, another 40%+ rise in energy prices end of March along with tax increases in April and the doubling of mortgage rates oh and 13% food inflation.

It turned out to be a fairly good day after all. But it was weird how the orders came quickly one after the other. I even sold stuff I had never sold before. I guess there is no logical explanation.

After new year it is usually quiet.
People have little money after xmas, inflation, high utility bills, fuel prices etc etc
