I am in total confusion right now. I just got an email from kyc-drtax-verification@amazon.co.uk saying that my account has been deactivated due to unable to verify the document I submitted for VAT establishment requirement.

I got an email requesting for VAT establishment verification 2 months ago. I submitted the exact documents they requested. Shortly after that, they asked for more documents, which I provided. Then they asked for more and more and more, of which I provided.

Fast forward to today, after several submissions of valid documents, I got an email saying my account has been deactivated because they were unable to verify my tax document.

I am UK resident, but not VAT registered and I have been selling on this platform for years and this is what I get after all these years.

My payment has been held and my active offers has been deactivated and I am totally confused.

Below is the email I received:

Any help/advice will be appreciated.

Note: I haven't submitted an appeal and I don't know what to include in the appeal if I am to submit one.

"Hello,

Thank you for your submission. Based on a review of your account and the information provided, we have concluded that we cannot verify the Value-Added Tax (VAT) establishment of the business in your selling account.

As a result, you can no longer sell on Amazon.co.uk or any European stores. You should continue to ship open orders and respond to customer inquiries to avoid further impact to your account.

We leveraged a combination of automated means and expert human review to identify this issue and make this decision.

Why did this happen?

The document that you provided is not acceptable for verification.

How does this impact my account access and account funds?

While you will not be able to use the Amazon selling services, you can continue to access your Seller Central account for the next 40 days. After this time, you will not have access to Seller Central, including your financial reports.

If you have funds in your account, you can request them after A-to-z Guarantee claims or chargebacks on your orders have been deducted. This usually takes about 90 days, but funds may be held longer. Contact payments-investigate(@)amazon/co/uk if you have questions about funds.

What should I do if I have items stored in an Amazon fulfilment center?

You have 30 days from the time we first informed you that your account failed verification, to create a removal order if you have any items stored in any Amazon fulfilment center. To view your inventory, go to Seller Central:

You can choose to dispose of this inventory or have it returned to you. If you do not create a removal order within 30 days, we will dispose off your inventory and you will be debited the standard removal fees.

Has your account been deactivated in error?

Within 30 days, if you wish to appeal this decision, email kyc-drtax-verification(@)amazon.co.uk. You may be required to provide additional information and documents during an appeal process.

We’re here to help

For more information, go to "UK VOEC: Determination of Establishment":

If you have additional questions and wish to speak to an Account Health specialist, go to "Contact Us" on your Account Health page:

Account Deactivated - Amazon unable to verify document for VAT establishment
In reply to: Seller_0HwgQjBzrC6Qv’s postby Seller_ZVAz3d5lZuGid

I realise you must be frustrated, but you should really not have started another thread for the same issue as your earlier thread (below), on which I replied. You tagged Simon in your previous thread, so hopefully he will respond at some point. Your tag to him in this new thread will not be seen as not highlighted in blue. Have you looked at the "UK VOEC: Determination of Establishment": page ? There is obviously some document that they are not happy with.

Correct procedure for item not received
In reply to: Seller_KBCvmRKLx6ft0’s postby Seller_ZVAz3d5lZuGid

Personally I send them a message saying you're sorry to hear they have not received their order, but tracking shows it as delivered, and send them a link to the page, and wait and see if they get back to you. Sadly many buyers know how to play the system and claim non-receipt (INR) hoping for a refund. DO NOT refund until you have established they definitely don't have it, and if the claim is genuine.

Vicious Circle trying to list book for purchase
by Seller_3fHacxYyCxqbJ

I am new to Seller and opened an Individual account. I want to sell one single item, my self-published book. I Add Product, put the book’s ISBN in the Category and fill in everything else required. It appears in My Inventory and I get an email saying it will be available for purchase in 15 minutes. But it never does. Seller helpdesk tells me my listing ’is not currently assigned to a product category, therefore is not searchable’. It tells me to complete the following steps. First go to Edit and select Product Identity and then fill in ‘Recommended Browse Nodes/Item Type Keyword’ BUT THERE IS NO PRODUCT ID to be found. Heldesk told me it is under Product Description… but when I click on that I get a message saying ‘Restricted Edit Permissions. As you are not the brand owner for this product…’ etc. It stops me filling out anything under Brand Description’, (It is my own self-published book but, when registered, Nielsen book registry automatically lists all books on Amazon.) Helpdesk then tell me, as an alternative, to ‘Toggle Advanced View’ BUT THERE IS NO ‘ADVANCED VIEW option to toggle. I am now on my 10th case with Help about this over two weeks and can’t get them to understand that it is not possible to carry out their instructions, despite sending screenshots to show I can’t fill out Product Details and there is no ‘Advanced View option. Please, please… can anyone else suggest anything and put me out of my misery?

Although you can earn up to £1000 in any tax year before you have to register with HMRC as a sole trader and by the sounds of it, the OP doesn't expect to make that much in a year if they only expect to sell 10-20 copies of their book.

From Gov.uk "Who must send a tax return ; you were self-employed as a 'sole trader' and earned more than £1,000" 6/4/24

I have made multiple shipments recently, and certain color variations of my products almost always go missing.

Shipment FBA15J26FK6J: 125 units packed, only 50 units received, 75 missing.

Shipment FBA15J2BTC0D: 125 units packed, only 74 units received, 50 missing (I found the 1 lost item).

Shipment FBA15J3G52YW is still active, 125 units packed, only 84 units received, 41 units missing.

Total missing units: 166.

There is a pattern to the missing items; they are all the same color variations - green, purple, and pink. This can't be an accident. They all have the same package quality, same label quality, and they are in the same box as others, but only these colors go missing. What is going on? Amazon support didn't help. They made no explanation about whats going on. As a seller, I am starting to loose my trust to amazon.

Hi, I am letting people know that Amazon have changed their policy on Royal mail 2D Bar codes i.e Royal Mail scanned on delivery. Sometime ago I raised this with Amazon that all our packages have "valid tracking" but Royal mail only scan about 80% and was told not to worry as Amazon are aware and will disregard if when needed we provide valid tracking proof. ie we sent them copies of the delivery label. Well that has changed. Last Friday some listings were deactivated and I had to provide the appeal which I did as usual, but this time it was turned down After a long conversation the result was we either change to a different post method (which would add about £1.00 to the cost and on cheap items that is a big percentage) or buy the same service from Amazon!

I am uncertain what the motive behind this is, to be competitive we will need to buy postage from Amazon? What I tried to explain is that as far as the customer is concerned there will be no improvement Royal mail will continue to fail scanning packages. In addition as we use 3rd party software to process all orders, will it be more difficult? Will Amazon then get details of my orders from Ebay and our own website? I think this stinks and anyone using Royal Mail 24 / 48 (CRL) should take note. Short term we will change to Royal Mail Tracked and accept less orders, longer terms we may have to buy shipping from Amazon, but before we do we need to consider the pros and cons
