Seller-answers@amazon .co.uk
Today I had an email from the above email address with the following stating that a customer had a question regarding a used cd boxset that I have for sale…was it genuine or a chinese remake.
There is no buyer message in seller central.
I am a little cautious and presuming that it is a scam as it has a yellow box to click on to provide an answer.

It would be helpful if you posted a screenshot of the entire e-mail to see the graphics as without this, it’s difficult to tell. However, I don’t remember ever receiving anything like this.
Other sellers are also reporting receipt of suspicious e-mails from senders which appear to be Amazon addresses:

There are so many phishing and scam emails going around, some very clever and difficult to distinguish from genuine emails, that the only safe rule is to never click on links in emails.
You have weigh up the risk of giving away your logins (search for “my account has been hacked” or similar, in these forums) against answering the customer’s question. If you do decide to click, then you may not need to login to answer the question, which should be safe.
If there is another way to answer the question, e.g. by going directly to the product page on Amazon, that should eliminate any risk.
It is ridiculous that Amazon send any emails with links. It makes it easy for scammers to copy the format, changing the link to a convincing copy login page.

And your reply will be visible on the item catalogue page with ‘Seller’ after it (so be nice! )

We get these alot, it’s just a generic question to everyone on the listing… nothing to be concerned about.

I get a few of these.
The last one asked me ‘what is the colour?’…about a CD { }.
Perhaps they wanted to know it is was a genuine pressed silver CD or a CD-R copy but as the question was very vague and I can’t answer for what the other sellers on that ASIN are listing, I ignored it…as I do most of these questions.

This is clearly a scam as there is a gap between amazon and .co.uk
