Amazon subscription refund

Hi I signed up to amazon last October 2022. I wanted to be a individual seller to start but was charged £30 professional seller fee. I have been sending emails back and forth with seller support since then. They say I was entitled to a refund but wasn’t verified. I have done everything I can to that they ask me to do. The link they sent me just said “unavailable at this time”. I tried this link over and over. Now the only response I am getting is it is over the 90 day. So now I’m not entitled to the refund. I have sent loads of emails trying to solve this. So amazon have basically stolen £30. you can’t get through to them by phone. I feel really let down, £30 is a lot of money to some people. Can anybody help me with what I can do. I just want my money back. I don’t know what else to do? Thanks.

Did you sell anything between paying and downgrading? Has your account actually been verified?

when you log into seller central does it say your account is deactivated? Did you send all your ID documents, business documents etc? Have you had emails saying you can now start selling?

So does the £30 not show up at all in your back account either income or expenditure? could it have been a ‘pending payment’ so its just been reversed rather than showing as a charge then a refund?

Yeah, its well hidden, and doesn’t help that an account type and seller plan share the same name - but its one of lifes lessons isn’t it - always read the small print.

Its not just Amazon who do it… you need to be careful what you sign up for.

They could solve so many problems if they just reworded a few things, and listened to sellers or even the mods telling them that the same mistake is happening over and over and over again…

But like I said earlier - they don’t care

Amazon is made up with a load up of employees who don’t give a damn past their paycheck, and even if they did care they probably aren’t capable of doing anything, and a load of shareholders who don’t care about anything that isn’t helping their profit margin or making them look good

ABSOLUTELY !

@Jessica @Julia_Amazon

As you know this issue has been raised SO many times over years, and yet there is never any attempt at a change to make it clearer for new sellers, yet there are so many other updates/changes happen almost daily/weekly.
The problem of both an account type (legal entity) and a selling plan having the same name is ridiculous and causes untold confusion, plus the fact that on the sign up page the first thing sellers see is the default to the professional selling plan - it is not until further down the page that the actual differences are explained.
It seems that most new sellers assume that because they are paying a fee that they are automatically registering for a business seller account, and also assume that Individual is the same as sole-trader, ie, just themselves on their own.

Yes, I fully agree that new sellers should do their own research, but the confusion really does start with Amazon’s terminology.

To begin with I was just going to sell stuff from around the house to get used to the platform.
