Getting constant calls that my account is going to be closed
Hi All,
At a bit of a loss really. I generally only sell 2nd hand books on Amazon, but I decided to sell and brand new item (which I purchased from Amazon and then didn’t use). It was a SMA Tree Macbook case, couldn’t return it as it had passed the return period, but as it was brand new / sealed I stupidly thought I could just sell it back on Amazon.
This has caused a Received Intellectual Property Complaints, and as soon as I received that, I cancelled the listing, apologised as I stupidly didn’t realise that this would cause an issue and supplied my original Amazon invoice to Amazon stating that I ordered it from Amazon and wouldn’t list it again.
Thought that would be it, however I’ve had months now of constant backwards and forwards with Amazon and lots of phone calls and I seem to be stuck in a loop. Even though it was my 1st strike I seem to get weekly calls where I have to explain everything again and then it get’s escalated. I think it’s all sorted and then a month later I have to go through it all again.
Is there anyway I can get this finally resolved? It’s got to the point now where it’s driving me around the bend, it’s not like I sell much at all on Amazon anymore.
Many thanks folks!

Have you actually deleted the listing from your inventory and made sure it has gone from each marketplace?

how long ago did this happen if you have received several calls, months apart as the defect should only be on your account for 6 months
although just to note that if you added it as new and not used, you may have also triggered the requirement to register as a business seller

You need to not just cancel, but click on ‘Delete product and listing’ from your inventory (will need to click on the ‘All’ tab’), and the violation will drop off in 6 months (180 days)

The best way is to try and contact the person or entity that lodged the complaint, it is probably an intellectual property company working on behalf of the brand owner and you are not whitelisted to sell the brand and that is why they lodged the complaint and the email address should be on the notification that you got of the actual intellectual property violation.
If you explain what happened, tell them that you will never try to sell another of their products and explain that your account is at risk of deactivation, they will remove it, then it will go from the dashboard. I have had this a couple of times and resolved it this way, Amazon will never remove it no matter what you say as you are not authorised to sell the brand, hope this helps.
