What would you all do in the situation :)

The item sold was a computer processor, we get a lot of customers trying it on with these ie empty boxes, INR and the whole the processor inside the sealed packaging was not what it says on the box its a 5 years old used processor (from my old PC) type of claims… But never had this one lol

‘The postman delivered this over my gate, i have 2 dogs who have attacked the parcel ripping the plastic bag and chewing the contents, the fan box is damaged but contents intact but there is a plastic thing that has been chewed, no idea what was in it but its not now, who claims from the royal mail for damage me or you as i still need this for my son’

Got some pictures from the customer the retail box has been ripped open no dog bite marks, the cardboard outer packing box again ripped no bite marks and its not wet either or chewed. (I have a dog and when he robs stuff I get them back chewed and wet especially cardboard). The only thing that is chewed is the plastic protective cover the processor was in inside the box.

Customer claims whatever was inside the plastic is now missing ie the processor lol

Yeah, RM posties are always doing that - NOT! Unless, of course, the mythical dogs were already waiting for him

I had this a few years ago - the parcel was left in the porch and they claimed their dog destroyed the parcel which they then had to bin. They demanded a refund which I refused. They then opened A-Z claim which Amazon funded. However, who knows what Amazon would do these days as they seem so reluctant to fund claims themselves.

Tell the customer you will report it to RM and ask him/her to retain the packaging for their inspection as part of the investigation by their management. That may shut them up

Pity RM don’t take photos at the doorstep like the other carriers now do, but probably the customer is well aware of that and knows they wouldn’t get away with that story if it had come by DPD etc

I have wrote back and advised they take the dogs to the vets urgently as swallowing a processor is likely to cause health issues.

A little update lol

Customer has now changed the story to:

The postman did not throw the parcel over the gate, he left it outside the door but someone has come along and opened the parcel between 11:30 and 15:30 and stolen the processor from inside leaving the rest on the doorstep

hahahahah honestly the story has really made me laugh.

Tell them that, as this is obviously theft, you will be reporting it to the Police who will speak to their neighbours to find if anyone has CCTV to identify the thief.

I had this for a costume, aid the dog chewed it all up. I simply said it was delivered and it is his job to secure his dog. Nothing happened.
