Auto returns - what a farce

A refund has been given for a 'returned' cd, £25 worth - I have not received said CD and the Royal Mail tracking says 'delivered' with a photo of an unknown commercial looking building way in the background - seems to be no way to contact the buyer via email - what options do I have to get the item, or get compensation for a lost item

According to amazons policies - if the order is lost by the courier, you are supposed to claim via Royal Mail.

Main issue is the labels are on amazons account, so you tend to hit a brick wall in your claim. Unfortunately, amazon have been zero help on this issue - simply stating 'our policy is that the courier is supposed to refund for lost parcels'

If you don't get anywhere, I imagine your would need to do a small claims court to amazon.

It is even more of a farce - just discovered the tracking number given for return was my original tracking number, and of course pre-dates the return by several weeks - either a mistake has been made or this is fraud - what a joke of a system to allow this

I have managed to send an email to the buyer as he had emailed me previously about when I would be posting - I kept it polite and said there seems to have been a mistake made with the tracking number provided

How was the refund given? Was this via an A-Z? It's just that seems odd.

If you go to Manage Returns and find the return in question - you click on View more details link under the product image and you should see the actual return tracking number (which in the UK is either a Hermes/Evri or a Royal Mail label) under Postage label details.

And it should show all the tracking linked to that return tracking ID on amazon (you can also enter the number into the relevant courier tracking site)

really , you can do this , because my issue is the whole returns process is a bit hit and miss anyway

sometimes a label is issued and sometimes the refund is issued and at other times like the original poster said . the orders are never returned and impossible to get a refund

The only drawback the one star review will not be removed if you use your own shipping method. Using the buy shipping will protect the seller from these reviews. Saying that one star review for a none delivery is now being used as a way to discredit the seller,

Again, Buy Shipping is nothing to do with Prepaid Returns.

The question I would like to ask is if Royal Mail has not delivered to the correct location why isnt the claim being investigated by them?

If its the buy shipping then again it should be investigated by them. Register all claims for loss with the courier? Please bare in mind the limits for claim over £20.
