Countries
Read onlyHi,
I'm struggling to make sense of a listing issue I have. I have an inventory of UK to EU travel adapters. I've noticed that although it is a generic branded product, there are several other identical adapters for sale on the marketplace. They have the same photos and information but are branded with the seller's brand. Additionally, I've just realised that there are some ASINS (same product and same images) with no branding but only one seller on the listing. Each has different ASINS. These ASINS are gated, so I have not listed my inventory for sale on them, therefore, I created my own. I used my photographs and wording but was sure to include all the relevant safety information, including country of origin. I sent in some inventory, and while in transit, my listing has been removed with the following:
- The sale of products that are not fitted with either (i) a UK 3-pin plug or (ii) a non-UK plug permanently fitted with a UK safety-approved conversion plug is prohibited on Amazon.co.uk. For more information on prohibited and approved plugs, please search for the 'Electrical Goods Requirements: Plugs and Sockets' help page in Seller Central.
We leveraged a combination of automated means to identify this issue and to make this decision.
While they were en route to the FBA centre, I appealed. I visited the other ASINS successfully listed on Amazon to check the photos and description, and all my information was the same as the others. My appeal was rejected, and my listing has been shut down. I wondered if anybody could help me understand how my listing can be restricted. Yet, others, selling the same product, using similar photos, using the same information are allowed? Is there anything I can do? Also, what happens with my inventory? It was en route, but now there is no valid ASIN to check against when it arrives. I also have an account health violation!
Thanks
unfortunately this is a known bot issue of Amazon in that they can’t see that a plug adapter is in fact not a product with a plug attached to it.
Sadly the only thing you can do is keep appealing until someone with half a brain reads your message.
It is highly likely the other sellers will have gone through very similar issues at some point in the past.
