VTR and tracked and Promised Delivery dates Amazon Debacle
I’ve been using tracked since the 9th April however my VTR rating hasn’t changed at all, still 83.9%.
How are amazon going to work out the VTR on the 19th May if the Valid tracking you are measured on is running weeks behind?
When I look at the orders it seems the dates on the VTR calculations it states 15th April ‘Not Valid’
I’ve been sending tracked since the 9th feb however the VTR calculations is using the promised delivery dates as the date for calculation NOT when the order was placed. This puts the calculation 6-8 weeks behind.
It’s being calculated on orders that were promised on the 22/03/21 which means they were ordered before this. This was before they even announced the VTR,
It just seems to be lagging behind so much so even if you switched to a tracked method (at the detriment of sales) because it’s lagging behind I’ll probably get hit with a suspension anyway. It just shows me this whole policy is complete an utter stupidity.
I’ve also struggled with a number of potential pricing errors, so amazon tell us to go tracked, we put the price up to cover tracked and then they tell you you’ve priced your items to high, your listings get supressed, I’ve just decided to leave those items that have been suppressed because I’m not going to
sell them at a loss,
I mean it’s got to be one of those most ill thought out policies going,
It’s no wonder we have had increased sales elsewhere and we’ve even had calls from companies asking to buy from us direct, I really believe this is one step to far.

Yep, makes it impossible to manage. I think Amazon have made it deliberately to manage because they think sellers will try to “game” the system. When all we want is to be able to run our own businesses and not work for Amazon.

It really is totally unfair to impose a metric that penalises us for items dispatched BEFORE we even knew the metric existed. Talk about moving the goal posts

Sorry being a pain here but thats not correct. when they do look at our vtr rate on 19th May, it will be for orders with a delivery date of 11th April to 9th May therefore on standard handling times items ordered roughly 1st April - the day of the webinar which was 3 weeks after the original announcement on 10th March . Which they will argue as giving fair notice
Don’t shoot me ! I’m really annoyed with the whole thing - it doesn’t matter WHEN they told us - its WHAT they told us to do thats still wrong

Basically the lag in dates is just so difficult to monitor and check.
Plus they REALLY need to add a column showing the order date - that would help.

I had 3 items flag as invalid, so I raised a case with Royal Mail who confirmed all valid codes, raised a case with the SS to explicitly tell me why they are invalid and included the email from Royal Mail, oddly they can’t tell me why they are invalid.

I’ve been keeping my handling times at 10 days, and will continue doing so until Covid is over. You never know when there will be a new lockdown or when royal mail will start collapsing again. 10 days covers any potential covid delays.
My real handling time is 1 day, but I certainly can’t tell amazon that without fear of severe punishment. So my VTR is still showing things from 12 March.

Totally agree with you. We are in same situation. We have stopped selling certain items as we just cannot afford to sell

Heres a new one…on the download report all my old invalids are slowly falling off the system.
Everything that has been added by apparently valid tracked methods are being counted as valid on the metrics but are not visible on the download report.
How can they include a service in the metric but not show it on download???

what I do not get is I use a non tracking method and up to last week my VTR was understandable at 0% this week even though I do not have tracking on my items my VTR has risen to 4.19% on the plus side my on time delivery rate is 100%
