Monthly membership fee

Hi all. Please help a newbie
I’ve just opened my Amazon Seller Account and they automatically put me on the Professional Seller Plan and charged me £30 ALREADY although I don’t have any active listing and not quite ready to have one just yet. I thought we was being charged as soon as we actually had an active listing as it can take quite some time to put everything in place.
How can i get my money back? is Downgrading the only solution? And also how come it’s £30 and not £25?
Thank you

It is £25.00 + VAT = £30.
There is not set fee to sell on Amazon - it is your choice which plan you choose.

It is the Professional Selling PLAN you signed up for.
You need to downgrade the Selling PLAN (not the account) - go to Settings - Account Info - Your Services - Manage.

You can open a case with seller support (Help - top right) and request a refund of unused fee, as long as sold nothing, though you may need to wait until your account is fully verified.

Just as an aside - have you opened a Business Seller Account, and not an Individual Account ?

Lesson no. 1: Never assume anything!

Lesson no. 2: Always read the small print at least twice before clicking on any buttons!

@JillyB1 has explained how to downgrade temporarily and told you that you can request a refund of what you’ve already paid - providing you haven’t sold anything.
