Hi everyone, @Sarah_Amzn@Julia_AmazonPlease help
I’m reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced a similar issue with Amazon regarding their business establishment in the UK.
I recently received a message from Amazon claiming that HMRC has notified them that my business is not established in the UK for VAT purposes. However, I am not VAT registered because I have never crossed the VAT registration threshold. Therefore, HMRC cannot issue any certificate or confirmation of UK establishment for VAT purposes.
I contacted HMRC directly, and they confirmed that:
They did not conduct any enquiry into my business.
They have not determined that my business is non-UK established.
Despite this, Amazon continues to insist that HMRC determined my business is not established in the UK, which I believe is a misunderstanding on Amazon’s end.
Current Situation:
Due to this misunderstanding, Amazon has started charging VAT on all my orders shipped within the UK, which is significantly affecting my business. I’ve tried contacting Amazon to correct this, but I haven’t had much luck yet, and I’m concerned about further disruptions to my account.
Has anyone else faced this issue or been in a similar situation? If so, how did you resolve it? Any advice or tips on how to handle this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Not sure if it's relevant, but you are using the name of a different ltd company as your store name which is different from your actual ltd company name. Could've gotten Amazon confused or could be a complete red herring.
