Cannot add my branded product. How do people do it?
Hi all
I’m trying to add my first product to Amazon. I have branded the packaging and so I applied for the branding qualification through Amazon so I can get a barcode.
It keeps getting rejected. I sent a photo of it in my hand, on a table, etc but they keep rejecting it. I’m completely lost for what to do. There are so many products on Amazon with a private brand. All of the online advice columns just say “design your brand logo and add your listing and start selling!” It’s not that simple. How do I start selling my private label product please?

You need to say why they are rejecting it.

amazon won’t give you a barcode - do you mean GTIN exemption ?
is it printed and not just a sticker ?

ignore anything you’ve seen on YT or social media - have a read of amazons own seller university pages instead

Are you registered with HMRC as a business
Is that business registered and verified on amazon
Have you checked you are ungated for the category
Have you taken out insurance
Have you got a healthy pot of funds to advertise your PL product
What is the product ?
Did you check the relevant labelling and safety requirements
Sorry to ask so many questions but you’d be amazed how many sellers get stock from china etc without any of this

Was that YouTube by any chance ? - and no, it is NOT simple - ltos of hoops to jump through before you can start selling - take note of Little_Shop’s post with just some of the things you need to sort out first, and that is not an exhaustive list if you plan to private label goods.

I am registered as a business with HMRC and Amazon
