Questions regarding VTR

I know there are all the answers somewhere on these forums, but after reading some I now have a head ache.

Simply, if I purchase Royal Mail 2nd Class Small Parcel via Amazon, do I have to copy the 11 digit alphanumeric code above the 2D barcode over to the order confirmation details to avoid a VTR issue?

Second question is the same with purchasing Royal Mail 2nd Class Small Parcel via a individual (not business) RM Click and Drop account?
