Why do some FBA sales find their way to our warehouse?
We sell on FBA and FBM but we don’t sell the same items on both platforms to help us keep a clear delineation between the two and the products listed therein.
Nevertheless, roughly 1% of our FBA orders end up us FBM orders, thankfully, as a wholesaler we do carry sufficient stock to cover this but I would still like to try and get to the bottom of why this is happening.
Any ideas?

It sounds like you’ve got something set up wrong. Maybe listings not being converted to FBA correctly?

I’m using Seller Central…and in Seller Central, that ASIN shows only one listing…FBA.

Our inventory management software , Orderhive sometimes likes to add the same item which is listed as FBA and makes duplicate FBM listing ,dont know why but once a week i just go into manage inventory and update FBA listings with Convert to ‘Fulfilled by Amazon’ then click the “DONE” button and this gets rid of any duplicate FBM listings.

I must say that sounds like an error at your end. Iether systems or initial set up. I’ve been selling both FBA, FBM and just startiing Seller Fulfilled Prime and have never had that happen.
WHat I have experienced though is when I have added aproduct to my inventory and either straight away or later decided to send it to FBA - when I have converted it to FBA i have clearly forgotten to remove the item or adjust teh FBM quantity. This then materialises in a random order for an item I know I no longer have here at the warehouse.

This is all great…but…it simply is not in my inventory as FBM, it isn’t there, nothing, nada, niente, it doesn’t exist as an FBM item so I can’t go to it and set the stock level to zero.
It happens with quite a few listings, one positive of this ‘error’ is that when FBA goes out of stock, I still get orders, not at the FBA level, more of a trickle than a flow, but it keeps ticking over and ensures that the listing doesn’t go to sleep as it were.
It doesn’t bother me greatly because we’re a wholesaler and we have plenty of stock in the warehouse, it’s just curious.
