End of Day Manifest Question (Buy Shipping)

Hello me again, first day using buy shipping, I expected it to look similar to the C&D manifest where it says all the shipments, I used RM 48 today and 2nd class, but only 22 shipments appearing on the “end of day form” under RM 48… but there was like 50+ shipments and I also used 2nd class, i’m confused what should I do? it’s only showing the RM 48 ones I did… I put them all in the same mailbag ready for RM driver to pick up later, did I do something wrong?

My RM account is linked to Amazon so I could get the OBA rates for RM 48.

UPDATE: I’m still stuck after speaking to RM/Amazon, as they didn’t know the answer, please can anyone help?

Only if its RM24 and 48
The rest are not charged by RM on your account so you don’t need a manifest

You only need a manifest for RM24, 48 and Tracked 24, 48

Your 2nd class won’t appear on the manifest because it’s bought directly from Amazon not RM so no manifest needed/required.

I’m not too sure if they should be in the same bag, in theory they’re the same service of 2-3 days. I have read on here that the manifest & amount of post people do doesn’t always tally up, tbh I don’t look at ours, I tag up and put it downstairs. So, I wouldn’t worry on that section.

Edit: I’ve just looked at our manifest for today & I know the no of orders through RM & it didn’t tally up.

I’m no RM worker but unless you’re being checked/‘red X’d’ then there should be no issue as I am convinced they just un zip it and throw it on the line. I hate printing out the manifests, paper is expensive & it’s just a load of poo… if you ask me lol.

Why did you use 2nd class if you have OBA and 48 available?

Just spoke to Royal Mail and they said that we would be billed AND charged for anything not on the manifest, so they said I need to ring Amazon and try and get the 2nd class mail also on a manifest, but not sure if possible… very confused.

UPDATE: I rang Amazon, they didn’t know what to do, so i’ve had to open a case for their internal team to look at. Please can anyone help? the RM driver comes in less than 1 hour. I spoke to both RM and Amazon but I am still none the wiser.

Hi Neil thanks for your reply however this is exactly what I did, I printed the end of day form via the link you mentioned and only RM 48 showed on the manifest/end of day form from Amazon, not the 2nd class I bought through Amazon, they were all missing.

That would be why then.
It’s a bit of a bugbear, that Amazon are forcing upon us.
There won’t be any option, once it comes into force.

Go to reports - payments - transaction view - delivery labels purchased on amazon and you’ll see the standard 1st and 2nd class there

Thanks but it just has billing for return labels we’ve done, we need to produce a manifest for the royal mail driver otherwise RM will bill us again for the 2nd class labels we already bought through Amazon today. We did the end of day form on Amazon but only RM 48 are on it.

Could our only option be to cancel the labels for all the 2nd class to get refunded and redo them via RM 48 label instead? this can’t be true! surely others use 2nd class via buy shipping and not just us?

Do I take the 2nd class post office or something instead? or shove them into a postbox?

The 2nd class labels are prepaid as far as RM are concerned so you don’t need a manifest for them

But when I rang Royal Mail they said they need to be in the manifest if putting in mailbags otherwise RM will charge us again for them (and extra fees on top)

Hmm ok so do I put them in a separate mailbag to be safe?

Yes , I would
Just as you’d separate BPL and CRL
