Shipping to Amazon Small and Light

I have multiple products to sell through small and light.

They would be damaged if in a clear plastic bag, but I understand the products can also be put in a box? Is that correct or does it have to be a plastic bag?

I will be shipping multiple ASIN’s to Amazon at the same time. If I had one large box for shipping purposes, then inside that box had smaller boxes with minimum 24units of each separate ASIN inside with an FNSKU sticker on the outside of each box, is that acceptable?

I’d be careful putting boxes, within boxes.
But it should be ok, as long as you don’t put any labels on the outside of the interior boxes.
So they have to open them to check.

I find it far easier to just send cases with individual products in and I have very rarely have an issue with that. Don’t forget when sending, it’s usually weight based and not number of boxes. Though that does depend on the courier you use.

With AZ barcode you have to label only products

It does not need to be in a bag at all.
Only if it needs to be.
It is perfectly acceptable to box them and label each individual product.
As long as nothing is going to get lost etc, then it’s not a problem.

Ok thanks. So if I sent 5 different products, I could have say 24units of each in 5 different boxes, and then put all of those boxes into 1 to ship it to Amazon? They would then open the main box and process each individual product accordingly?

I might write on the outside of the main box that there are multiple different products in side, and like you say, not include any barcodes etc on the main box.

I’m thinking, for example, If I were to send in a pallet with 3 or 4 different products on it that it must be OK and they would realise it was a mixed delivery.

There is no need to do that. The box label has that information.

Right OK thanks. I’m about to prepare my first shipment so I suppose that will help reveal what label says what, but from what you say it sounds OK to use one large box to ship smaller boxes of different products.

It’s actually quite easy. Just follow the process and it basically tells you what to do anyway.

I would just add to what Neil said though, in that you need to ‘idiot proof’ shipments. For example, we sent in around 40 different items in one large box. The box had originally had a wood burning stove in it, which was quite large. It had the correct UPS labels on the outside which stated mixed SKU’s inside. After a couple of days, we received an email and a photo from Amazon (showing a tape measure next to the box) advising our ‘item’ was oversized. It was just a packing box. Now, if we use such boxes, we put a whopping great sticker on the box stating ‘THIS IS JUST A PACKING BOX - PLEASE OPEN’ and then wrap it in brown paper. Like I said, idiot proofing :grinning:

5 skus in 1 box, yes ok

make sure all 5 inner boxes have FNSKU on the outside for that particular product.

the products dont have to have fnsku on them

Small & light is different to standard FBA in checking in so I can see some things here that aren’t correct.
If you are putting boxes into boxes, each individual box should have the asin on the outside plus the quantity of how many items are inside. I usually make sure that the individual items have asins but am told that isn’t necessary.
The items inside should either have no barcode at all or asin barcode. Items should not be mixed within the box. Presumably you’re aware that there is a minimum of 24 items per asin going to small & light? As that is the case s&l wouldn’t be bothered if the individual boxes were sealed as the outside tells them how many of each asin is inside. A box of 24 items could not be sent out as one (in theory!).

I do a simiar thing. I ship multiple products in one box but I put each individual product inside a bag so they do not get mixed up. Works well for me. I have even put them inside a supermarket carrier bag. I haven’t labelled the bag at all and so far no issues.
