EXPRESS DELIVERY ADDED BY AMAZON

Have Amazon got a team of people thinking up continuous ways to put off independent sellers? First it was Account verification process renewal, then VTR then very recently UK based trading verification and 2 days after sorting that mess out now I`ve just gone to list some items and there is an automatic 24 delivery postage option which I cant remove!! When did they tell us about this and how can we possibly comply if we are selling on a part time basis from home? Any ideas on how I can remove this postage option? (In my Shipping options settings Express is still showing as `No`)

quite a few threads to this effect now. Assume it is a glitch but Amazon haven’t announced anything (which shouldn’t come as a shock frankly) no doubt the issue will be fixed and disappear as abruptly as it appeared.

Hello Sellers,

I found and reviewed the threads regarding this topic, as well as the screenshots provided by other sellers.

Here I am tagging the Sellers that wrote on the Forums regarding default express delivery option:

@Seller_nT7psArrIHc2I , @Seller_6awJL0SOReDyy, @Seller_FwDi7ESyrH7sh , @Seller_oZjFTHXLT4XwO

If there are other Sellers who experience the same, please comment on this thread with the below information.

I would need some more details to investigate it.

  • Did you open a case with the Seller Support?

-If yes, please share the case ID in this thread.

-If not, please open the case, as it will be needed for the further check.

  • Please check your Default Shipping option to see if Express Delivery is set to: No
  • Any screenshots of your listing shipping settings or default shipping settings would be useful (remember to remove any personal data).

I am looking forward to your reply.

Regards,

Sakura

This is still happening, tried listing a couple of CDs and it keeps defaulting to express shipping I can not edit it as the box is greyed out there is no way to edit it, so can not list anything new, this has been going on for at least 2 weeks now, why no fix or update. Edited to point out I’m a individual seller if that makes any difference.

Hi Book_Sales_are_Russ,

I may be trying to teach grandmothers how to suck eggs, but... and I'm sure this has been though of - but just in case...

When you Add Product Via Upload there is an Express Delivery UK box...

If this was accidentally (or even automatically) ticked it might have the effects you describe

In any case checking with an upload (which doesn't have to be completed) would allow you to ensure this box is not ticked, or if it IS ticked might allow you to untick it (and complete an unnecessary upload)

If this has already been thought of, or checked for, please accept my apologies, in advance

All Best

Brian

Thanks for sharing but the problem is the Express Delivery UK box is grayed out and ticked and has been this way for me at least since February! There seems to be no way to untick the box now which means every cd I upload for sale is now being listed with express delivery which I can’t offer to customers which I assume I would be breaking some Amazon rule by not fulfilling orders . So I am now unable to upload any cds for sale since February.

Hello joeyjo,

I understand that in one part of the system for you the Express Delivery UK box is grayed out and ticked and sorry if I wasn't clear but

If you try to Add Product Via Upload there is an Express Delivery UK box... which MIGHT override the one you're displaying and having problems with

If this was accidentally (or even automatically) ticked it might have the effects you describe

In any case checking with an upload (which doesn't have to be completed) would allow you to ensure this box is not ticked, or if it IS ticked might allow you to untick it (and complete an unnecessary upload)

how do I add product via upload? Never used it before this may be to complicated or not available for me as an individual seller.

Hi joeyjo,

At the top left of your home screen there are three parallel lines.

When you click on them you have a lot of options:

The first is Catalogue and once you've hovered over that you have available Add Product Via Upload which you can click on

This can provide a spreadsheet that you can load with new items for sale on Amazon

You can then load that spreadsheet into your Amazon stock to add to (or replace) your item lists

But you can load it with nothing and when you go to load it you are offered the options of Express Delivery - UK with a tick box which may be ticked and can be unticked?

DO NOT REPLACE YOUR STOCK WITH THE BLANK SPREADSHEET but Submit Products or you will delete all of your items

Hope that helps

Brian

Hello Sellers,

@Seller_19xPhE8YgkmxW  Thank you for the clarification and sharing guidance regarding   Add Product Via Upload.

Here I am sharing some help pages that might be useful:

@Seller_N8sdIVWmCyj2a, This option would only be available for Sellers with a professional selling plan. Do you have this option? If yes, did you try it?

PS. I am constantly monitoring the situation with Technical Team, but I don't have any news to share now.

Regards,

Sakura

sorry for the late reply yes I checked and found I can’t do this as I’m a individual seller.

So still unable to upload any cds since February! This is really gross that when Amazon brings in a new rule I have to adapt immediately but Amazon can’t help or fix an error with its own website! This has being going on for at least 3 months now and still no sign of a fix!

If I was to upload a used cd for sale now it would also add express delivery on to it so if a customer buys it and I can’t fulfil the postage I would have to cancel the order. Amazon would probably give me a strike on my account for a problem not caused by me!

Yes. I had the £8.98 suddenly marked as main shipping price for no reason so I edited the listings & ticked the shipping options that I wanted and minutes later it's back to how it should be.

I can confirm that as of May 2024 this issue is still not resolved. Any items I add to my inventory automatically get Express Delivery UK added. The option is ticked _and_ greyed out so I cannot change it on an individual item-by-item basis.

My default shipping template has Express delivery set to 'No'

This is very annoying. This started happening a few months ago.

However, products in my inventory which I added prior to this issue appearing do not have the problem, i.e. they have Express delivery unchecked.

Any update from Amazon?

ps-- I am adding products using Catalogue -> Add Products --> type in the item name --> find it in Amazon's catalogue --> and then fill in the product price, shipping options etc manually)

Hello Sellers,

I am in touch with the Team that is checking this issue, and I wanted to confirm with you a few things.

  1. Are you able to change the shipping settings (untick Express delivery ) on the SKU level? You should go to: Manage your Inventory -> locate the SKU-> Edit - > Offer - > locate Shipping settings.
  2. Does your selling plan allow you to use the inventory file to implement shipping changes in bulk?
  3. Do you use another workaround to adjust your shipping settings ? If yes, what are your steps ?

Tagging here Sellers for visibility: @Seller_nT7psArrIHc2I, @Seller_N8sdIVWmCyj2a, @Seller_IvVwEd8qUuYlP, @Seller_JIfFwmpEsbJPI, @Seller_9ImBEGqOxcZqR, @Seller_FwDi7ESyrH7sh

Thank you so much for your cooperation and patience !

Regards,

Sakura

Its still happening. £8.98 default shipping for THE FIRST FEW products listed on my inventory page, The box for £8.98 express is ticked in the box which is showing grey with no way of removing the tick. I keep having to tick the domestic shipping box on edit then save and it goes back to normal shipping. Trouble is, it reverts back to the £8.98 shipping again some time later.

I've just come across the same problem. A cheep book with a customer choosing express delivery, now I have to rush to package it for £1.05 profit. When I look at my default shipping settings "Express Delivery - UK" says "no" but for some reason I offering "Express Options". I hope Amazon can guarantee this will not be marked as a later delivery, as even with special delivery there is no way it will arrive in 24 hours from my location.
