New account suspended, changing to ltd co

Hi guys im new here and this is my first post, please go easy on me :slight_smile:

I have a lovely new product which I was hoping to release to get some good sales over christmas. I do understand that we may just miss the boat and would either way like to be a successful amazon seller for the forseeable future.

I have been suspended for not providing the statement required on new account regarding political exposure. I did provide and send this and the account was originally reinstated pending further review.

Ye and behold a few weeks later I receive the same suspension requiring not only this statement but UTR number and ID.

I have sent a copy of my passport to Amazon but UTR was still pending.

However I have now opened a Ltd co. and require the account to be changed from sole trader to Ltd co. I have the UTR in the post and all information required ready to be forwarded to Amazon. Making matters a little more complicated.

I have emailed amazon requesting they either close down the account so I can setup a new one or change the account to a Ltd co. and provide information from there.

In my case log it now shows answered, but we have received no reply. Im just wondering what is the best course of action from here, as I believe if I open a new account it will also get suspended.

There is also the case of the £30 per month they are taking while this is ongoing.

Firstly downgrade your account to prevent further monthly charges.

You are in a difficult position now as Amazon will want to verify your account firstly on your original paperwork but now you’ve become Ltd it’s different. I suppose you should send an email to verification team asking them to “enable” your account so you can change the business details. Otherwise your UTR won’t match your business name.

Don’t ,under any circumstances, open a second account as both will be suspended

Amazon has suspended your Seller Account. Please refer to the email from Amazon to learn more about the status of your account. [Read more]

It takes me to your account has been deactivated banner. I click that and it did show me a section to send a POA. Instead I stated that the account was deactivated in error, around a week ago this was. As below;

Has your account been deactivated in error?
Dear Amazon,

I believe that the account has been deactivated in error as I have already
sent you the statement which you requested and the account was
reactivated. Please see again as per below;

I, ### confirm that I am not, nor have I ever been, a
politically exposed person or have been associated/related with someone
who is or was.

Please see also my ID attached.

Kind Regards,

That was in response to the suspension email which stated they needed this statement.

If you have the paperwork to complete the 1st verification, I would probably just complete that one first before updating to a new entity. It’s just more straight forward and less dodgy that way, because, after all, it is a bit dodgy to switch entities right in the middle of verification.

Once verified as sole trader, when you want to switch to limited, email them before doing so, and they can help you avoid the 2nd suspension that the automated system usually causes (if you just fill out the boxes on the dashboard it will automatically suspend). For me, they allowed me to sell while the 2nd verification was still processing. it’s:
seller-verification-enquiry@amazon.co.uk, but I wouldn’t even bother with that until you can give them the first lot of paperwork and complete the 1st verification.

Also, before switching to LTD, make sure that you have your LTD bank account statement, Companies house update, VAT (if applicable) and articles of association all ready to go.
