How are your sales?

Hi! I appreciate it’s the Easter holidays and trade normally slows at this time of year but just wondered how you guys are finding it, and if the slowdown is greater than previous years?

Me. The quietest I have ever seen it on here…

Slowest day this week so far for me but still 50% up on the same day last year. Amz has been unusually busy for me just lately so can’t complain. ebay, on the other hand… close to calling it a day on there.

Yesterday I think everyone in the north west was trying to get into North Wales. Took us 1 and half hours to do a local car journey that usually takes about 20 minutes. Expect it was the same elsewhere. Lovely sunny day so no reason to be online:sunglasses:

We are quiet too… but that is normal for us on a Saturday… but this is even slower than normal.

People have other things to do today and the weather looks to be quite kind. Sunday is usually good for us, but I expect this to be moved to Monday this week.

Been here on Amazon for around 13 or 14 years. My worst day of sales ever yesterday. Since the war - and increase in energy/food prices - people are not buying my items as much (low value jewellery - e.g. sterling silver earrings at around £12). People are, understandably, prioritising essentials and have less disposable income. I did pretty well the week or so before easter as I sell rabbit and chicken themed items, hence to be expected.

Once food and fuel comes back down (whenever that may be) I suspect a bit of an uptick. However, I also foresee a recession coming which won’t help (of course I may be wrong, but I do know a lot about economics and I’m pretty confident there’s a storm coming late summer - or definitely before the end of the year - the gov’s claim there won’t be a recession is nonsense).

Of course the fact it was Easter and sunny will massively affect online sales too!

It has been a bad week, there was a day when I sold more on eBay than on Amazon. I hope as payday approaches things will be better. I have two main problems, people are definitely buying less, one relatively popular item that I was selling 2/3 times a day until a couple of months ago, stopped selling for three weeks and then sold again a bit at the end of the month, now it has stopped again. I share the buy box with one other seller and I see their stock doesn’t change. The other problem is mainly on FBA, lots of new sellers who didn’t do their research properly and sent lots of stock to FBA for products that were selling ok for one seller on a good day but they are not enough to support 3/4/5/ sellers when people are not buying much. Now they are panicking and are lowering the price. Problem is they are still not selling much. One seller priced an item at £9.99 that I was selling at £14.99. I used to sell about 3 a week, they have sold one in three weeks at a much lower price. I am working more on my online shop trying to sell more essential stuff.

I’ve got less orders on here for the weekend than I usually do in a day.

For the first time, I think ever, Ebay might actually beat Amazon!
