New(other) - Category in sales

Hello,

Probably this was discussed before, I don’t know.
Sometimes I have some products that are NEW but the box was damaged and can’t give it like that to a customer.

Lets say that I have to sell a brand new phone but without box and/or accessories.
I don’t have a good category for it, just NEW or USED. If you sell in NEW this kind of products, you can’t add a description to let them know that box is missing or any other issues beside a brand new product.

I think a category of NEW(others) could help us, and there each seller can describe exactly that item.

Any ideas? Thanks

Here are the Amazon Product Condition Guidelines, which apply to all categories.

Based on it, I think that you should list the phone as no better than “Used - Very Good”. It is always recommended to rather undergrade your damaged items than overgrade.

For items as you describe I’d be inclined to list them on a well know auction site

I know, but aside of that I like more to sell here.

If they change that, to simply add a new category as " NEW (others) " (here you as a seller can describe exactly what’s wrong with that new item ) then automatically will attract more sellers that means more money from fees for Amazon.

The question of whether or not a product is “NEW” has been debated here many many times but unfortunately there is never any general agreement.
Under Amazon guidelines the best you can describe your product is VERY GOOD(even that may be pushing it). But there is no reason why you cannot describe the phone in the comments box so that potential customers will know that the phone is pristine.
What you are describing is a bit like , for example , trying to sell a dinner service where some of the plates are “seconds”. The service may only have been manufactured recently and is “new” in the sense it is not “old”. It is not second hand.( thats another tricky subject!) but can you describe it on AMAZON as NEW? I very much doubt it
