Amazon intentionally obscuring refund data

I get emails letting me know when a refund takes place and often wish to query the cause (as well as whether I, or Amazon should actually bare the costs).

I’ve asked the seller support team repeatedly where I can find something akin to a “Customer Refunds Report” - a list of every refund, the codes for why the refund was initiated, as well as the customers comments on it.

When I set up a case, Seller support will give me the information, and then insist on the following: (pasted info looks a mess, so Ive taken the links out)

"Please note that if an item is refunded, you can always check the reason under ‘Returns’ in the Fulfilment Reports section of your seller account: (link)

Furthermore, for monitoring the cause and customer issues, for each and every refund that gets issued you may check FBA customer return report. (link)"

I’ve repeatedly, at least 5 times in the same case, insisted that what they are claiming does not appear to be the case. The refund that they provided the info for in that case, cannot be seen in the Returns Report. In Fact - unless there is a setting or something that I am unaware of, only the actually returned items are there.

I’ve previously asked for the exact step-by-step walkthrough as to where I should click to find the information that they claim is there. I’ve even just now replied to them showing a photo of my email inbox showing 8 refunds, but then the returns report only showing 4 entries in the same timespan. I still expect them to provide the exact same pasted response, as I believe the staff are either instructed to “gloss over” the fact that there is no refunds report data for us to inspect, or if they dont actually know the answer, they will paste anything they want and it gets passed onto the next keyboard monkey.

Is anyone able to shed some light on this matter - is it me just being stupid and there’s a button somewhere that lists every refund issued as they occur, or am I right to assume that Amazon does not want to make this information easily accessible? Is the only course of action to paste the email into a case each time?

Thanks, to anyone able to impart advice.

Not quite sure what you are asking but if amazon have issued 8 refunds, it means 8 people have opened returns
If only 4 are showing as actually being returned, the other 4 haven’t returned the goods and therefore after 45 days, amazon usually recharge the buyer and refund you and you should receive an email entitled fba inventory reimbursement
Those transactions can be found under transactions - other

FBA returns report is available here https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/reportcentral/CUSTOMER_RETURNS/0 . Customer’s not always give the exact reason and just select a random reason.

For FBM, https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/returns/list has the List of Returns and other details.

For the amount deducted, it is best to check the Transaction View under Payments and Filter By Refund under
https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/payments/event/view?accountType=PAYABLE&eventType=AffordabilityExpenseReversal&eventType=AmazonShippingReimbursement&eventType=FulfillmentFeeRefund&eventType=Refund&eventType=RetrochargeReversal&eventType=PerformanceBondRefund&resultsPerPage=10&pageNumber=1
