Pallet collection for shipment into Amazon FBA
Hello,
We have always shipped to Amazon FBA in parcels previously, but this time I have arranged a pallet shipment and it came up saying we would be contacted by the shipping company regarding collection. I arranged it last night and it was due to be collected today but nobody has contacted us and I cant find details anywhere on the UPS website for arranging a pallet collection.
Am I missing something? Do we need to request a collection like you do with parcels, or do we just wait to be contacted?
Any help and guidance would be much appreciated!
Thanks

You have to arrange your own pallet shipping. As far as I’m aware Amazon doesn’t have partnered carriers for it unlike with small parcels.
If your own pallet shipping company hasn’t turned up you’d need to speak to them about it.

so you got a label via Amazon and paid for it but this is for a pallet collection? we don’t really do pallet shipping but if you got a UPS web account, you can book collection using the 1Z number and part of the selection will ask for no of boxes/weight as well as whether it is a pallet collection.
The main question is have you paid for the label via Amazon with a UPS label. If you have, then that is the right route. on another hand, have you got the local depot no; if you have, call them and ask them about collection.

interesting, I didn’t know they did pallets on the partnered carrier programme now - I just tried and got a quote of £76 to LCY (from North East) which is better than my local carrier by the time they add on the timed delivery slot.
OP, please let us know how you get on!

just get hmt to pick it up, they deliver multiple pallets into each dc daily.
any problems give us a shout, funnily enough now our box rate for 10kg with ups into amazon is 2.29 so its actually cheaper to ship in boxes than it is with hmt for the same cube capacity.
cheers

Amazon’s partnered pallet carrier in the UK is UPS SCS (a separate division of UPS).
We opened an account with them (it’s different from our UPS account).
Once you have an account they will send you a spread sheet which you have to fill in for each shipment (you get the information from your Manage FBA Inventory page after you’ve created your shipment). Basically they need to know the number of pallets, total number of boxes, total number of units, destination, FBA Reference for that shipment and collection date.
It’s possible to combine shipments to different Amazon Fulfillment Centres, but you can’t have mixed destinations on the same pallet.
Their service is pretty good and the big advantage is that they get priority delivery slots from Amazon so the stock tends to get to the fulfillment centres faster than with other pallet carriers we’ve tried.

Has anybody managed to get any pallets into a FC via UPS yet?

Hiya,
I have the same issue here - Amazon charged us £50 and provided us a 8 digit REF for a pallet collection, however no one contacted us - when trying to sign up to UPS SCS we have been told this is a BETA version and that we are in a waiting list so cannot use their services - any advise?
Thank you !

Seems this has been released now, if they don’t contact us then I assume we have to arrange a collection with them, its not very clear on the website how to do this although I do remember seeing an option for pallets the last time I arranged a UPS collection, probably worth giving it ago for anyone trying.
