Read onlyIt seems Amazon has introduced something new for returns and deployed it without thorough testing. They have started issuing refunds under "Refund First Scan" without providing any proof—no tracking ID, no carrier information. I have no way of knowing if the customer actually dropped off the item. They advised me to open a SAFE-T case, but I keep getting an error saying my order is not eligible. I also couldn’t resolve the issue with support. Is there a setup available that allows me to process refunds only after I’ve received the returns?
Surely you are wrong there? They don't refund without the item being posted.
You can turn off RAFS. Contact Seller Support and ask them to switch it off for you.
I feel your pain, here come the scams.
When Amazon auto approves a return it automatically qualifies for a refund at 1st scan, but the real issue is that when Amazon issue the return label it then shows up in our account ( and I assume everyone else's account) within seconds of it being issued which is not an issue but the fact that it also shows as "courier collected" even if the label is issued at 1 am, 2 am 3 am the courier apparently collects the parcel at 1:01 am, 2:01 am, 3:01 am (I am sure you get the idea), and when I raised this issue with SS I was assured that this was correct!!!!!! so the customer does not then need to post the item back as it has apparently been collected at 2:01 am and it is now my problem to prove it has not been delivered and when we contact the courier THAT AMAZON has decided to use they tell us we are not the customer so they can not discuss it with us. HOW CAN THIS BE CORRECT @ Sakura_Amazon_ @LeviDylan_Amazon @Sarah_Amzn @Julia_Amzn @Julia_Amazon @Winston_Amazon
This is a standard message/note once a label has been produced, it means nothing more than that. It should really read label generated but this is Amazon logic at work.
I have to be honest and say that in my SFP accont so far this has worked.
The process is that I get an email from Amazon telling me that the item has been refunded on the first scan. ( in truth this does not mean the item is actually in the carrier network) from that email I always open a Safe T claim and I am always told to wait 15 days for the item to be delivered. If after 15 days I dont have the item I reply to the Safe T claim message and to date I have been refunded for the deduction. I 'think' that the courier collected notice indicates that the label has been made rather than scanned. However that will not prevent Amazon crediting the buyer. I have also had cases where Amazon have credited the buyer without a retun being opened....lord knows how the systerm allows that but it does, even in these cases once I open a Safe T claim and wait 15 days I get refunded. It is 100% a pain in the rear but I have been on the right side of it so far. As we all know that could change at any point!!
I was under the impression if you sell on Am UK you have to provide a UK return address

I'm Angie, part of the UK forum community. It's a pleasure to greet you.
If you want to remove the option for “Refund at First Scan” you'll need to contact Seller Support here.
Have in mind that by opting out, you are still required to adhere to the new returns policy.
Here are some help pages for more information:
Refund at first scan for seller-fulfilled returns
Prepaid returns for seller-fulfilled orders
