Repeatedly getting "Campaign paused or suspended: Your ad has been suspended as it does not satisfy ad policy requirements."

I have had a Sponsored Products ad running for months.

Recently, in the beginning of December, it stopped delivering…I waited a couple of days, then dug into it…while there is no indication of this at the campaign or ad group level, once I got to ads level, I saw

Campaign paused or suspended: Your ad has been suspended as it does not satisfy ad policy requirements.

Having gone through Amazon ad policy, I saw no violations, so I contacted Amazon ad support. After the usual “transfer to specialized team” etc, in about 3 days, they contacted me saying no violation has been found and they will reinstate the ad/ASIN within 24 hours, which they did.

Since then, no changes have been made to the ASIN.

But just a couple of days after their “thourough review” found “no violations”, I am seeing the ads stopped with the same message again

Campaign paused or suspended: Your ad has been suspended as it does not satisfy ad policy requirements.

This is making me paranoid. I feel like maybe some competitor is maliciously reporting my compliant ads as violating guidelines just to stymie our holiday sales. And Amazon, instead of first investigating the report, first suspends the ad, and then (and only upon my request) investigates it, all the while my ad is suspended, and each time I lose at least 3 days worth of sales, if I am vigilant.

Is this even possible? Is there even a mechanism for sellers or customers to “report” ads for violations?

What can we do to ensure this doesn’t happen again, at least during the holiday season? Or at least minimize the chances of this happening?

  • Losing the Buy Box to a competitor or hijacker
  • Billing issues (e.g. expired credit card)
  • CPC bids are too low, keywords aren’t relevant, or ad targeting that is too narrow
  • Budget for the campaign is too low
