first off, I am completely new to selling on amazon, and this is me trying to make my first listing.

I bought some products from alibaba from one specific chinese brand, and am trying to sell them here.

In the listing creation tool I applied for approval to sell the brand, and I get an e-mail saying:

"UPC owner and Brand do not relate". After some googling around finding out what UPC means, I contact support to explain to me in a bit more detail what this means for me and my business plans, what I have to do etc.

I get an email in response just repeating the very same that was said earlier:

"UPC owner and Brand do not relate".

since they keep repeating the very thing I asked them to explain in more detail, I turn to you guys.

have any of you had this issue?

what does it mean for me and my plans?

I can't imagine a chinese brand that allows several distributors on alibaba to sell their stuff globally minds that it is sold by someone on amazon...... so what's the issue here?

to confuse things further, this is not my first attempt. an earlier application for the same product was denied and the email I got said " After investigation, we have identified that the brand you are attempting to list with is already registered or approved on Amazon.".........

any advice and help would be much appreciated, and with a lot of gratitude

What the message 'UPC owner and Brand do not relate' means in practice is this...

  • Amazon only recognise barcodes (ie UPC/EAN etc) from the company GS1
  • When a company registers with GS1, they are provided a series of barcodes that all start with one or more locked prefixes (ie, the first sequence of numbers for all barcodes belonging to brand A will be the same)
  • Therefore, for some brands, amazon are expecting a particular barcode sequence. If that isn't what is supplied, they will reject it as it indicates the barcode for hte product doesn't belong to the brand

Was try and do everything i can but some reason unfortunately no ones buy my product on amazon .

was watching a YouTube influencer about amazon.. and nothing is as they describe amazon..

was create PPC and All advertising options.. also Registered my Brand and Create A + Content

was send 296 items to amazon but show receiving 222 and status still receiving 8 days ago

hope i can got back all the 296 items

was send 4 boxes to amazon.. and i need back all the 4 boxes

How can i got back my product from Amazon FBA centres ?

So we have a product that has a brand but no barcodes that when trying to add a new listing states 'Brand Authorisation Required: The ability to create or edit ASINs using this brand name is restricted to authorised sellers. You need to apply for approval to add or modify products for this brand.'

On the initial listing page we have indicated the brand and under External Product ID have ticked 'I don't have a product ID'

There is an apply to sell button. We click it.

It then advises us to upload the product information and then photos. The photos need to show a UPC. No matter what we do, amazon are now insisting that to get brand approval, we need to show a product with a barcode.

Anyone else getting this issue?

Hi UPC,

if you open a case with support in your case log, then you get a case ID. Once you have this, reply to Sakura (amazons post) below this one to be added to a list that should fix this.

We are all adding our case ID's to this so that they have us together to monitor the fix.

We're affected by this too, near perfect VTR score, now dropped below 95% over the last 2 days.

We've also received the low VTR email.

To whom this may concern, we have waited over 2 weeks now for internal team to get back to us regarding why our listing has been taken down. With all due respect but this is an absolute waste of time. This is the second time you guys have taken our listing down and made us lose our ranking and wasted our money on ppc campaigns. We decide to do business with you guys but if this is how amazon treats sellers, then its literally crap, we are actually looking into taking legal action on this matter because clearly, when initially the first time the listing was taken down, amazon apologized and said it was done in an error wasted 2 months of our time and made us lose all of ppc campain optimizations that was a sever loss as the ranking was lost so useless as there was no compensation for your mistake. but now the same thing is repeating again. You guys have given us a major loss, literally we are keeping your customers happy but there is no way for us to contact someone in authority, to get this issue solved as soon as possible, all the replies we get our automated, literally useless, it feels like we are speaking to a wall, This is appalling customer service, we regret every second for the fact we invest in selling on amazon marketplace, literally useless and a very toxic place to sell on where, our listing gets taken down for no apparent reason and then we have no support from you guys to solve this issue. We contact support team but literally that is pointless, as they have no authority and all they do read a script out, what is even in the point of speaking to them. the internal team is as useless as it gets as clearly they do not care about us, to solve this issue ASAP. we requested a leadership call but clearly, again you guys don't care as nobody called us back. NOT ONCE BUT TWICE NOW OUR LISTING HAS BEEN TAKEN DOWN, WITH NO EXPLANATION. this is unacceptable behavior and we are very very close to taking legal actions.

Our asins below where before taken down due to patent design issue but clearly that was a major error from you guys hence why the best you guys can do is apologies that doesn't not mean anything. once again, apparently, we have violated "A policy" which even you guys don't know what it is. Everything is being noted down and very soon you guys will hear of us again for this atrocious customer service. we request again solve this issue asap we have already waited 2 weeks but nobody has given flying hoots about this matter. This is extremely disappointing and I hope someone in authority reads this messages and please do not reply with an automated message.

Hi Everyone,

I'm reaching out for assistance with a problem I'm experiencing on Amazon. I'm trying to create a product listing for an item that comes in two different colors. Amazon has suggested using inventory upload to create the listing quickly, but I keep encountering Error Codes 8572 and 8566.

Error 8572 mentions that the UPCs, EANs, ISBNs, ASINs, or JAN codes I'm using don't match the products I'm trying to list. On the other hand, Error 8566 states that the SKU doesn't match any ASIN, and the product data provided isn't eligible for ASIN creation. It advises checking that the UPC/EAN/GTIN is registered in the G1 tool or ensuring that the brand name used matches the UPC/EAN/GTIN. Despite following these steps, the issues persist.

I've sought help from Amazon and provided all necessary information. The brand I intend to list the product under is registered on the brand registry, and I have a registered trademark certificate from the UK IPO office.

Previously, I had to list the product under a generic brand name to obtain the FKSKU barcode and FBA labels for shipping to the Amazon warehouse. Now that the product has arrived at the Amazon Fulfillment Center, I deleted the previous listing in order to create a new one under the registered brand name to benefit from the extended brand registry features. However, I'm encountering the same error codes.

Amazon's response has been slow, and I recently received an email stating that my inventory has been marked for automatic removal due to no active listings. I've provided documents, including a trademark certificate and GS1 certification, to enable listing under the GTINS purchased from GSI UK.

I don't want my inventory to be removed. This business is my passion, and I'm puzzled as to why this is happening despite following all the steps. If anyone from Amazon Seller Support sees this, please assist me. My case ID is 9872232132, and the batch ID for my inventory upload is 65377019883.

Any advice or support on resolving this issue and linking the new listing to the present inventory would be greatly appreciated.

Amazon deactivated my account. I spent a whole year learning about trading, marketing, PPC, etc., trying to launch various products for sale. No matter what I wanted to sell, it all came down to a private label. So, I focused on a brand. For a trial, under the name of the account I was trading on, I launched a product with full awareness of the new brand, and it worked. ACOS fluctuated around 24%. I was selling a product that was quite popular on various platforms and I wanted to expand it. Here is where, when I started to apply all my knowledge about brand registration, the Amazon platform decided to block my account. Despite many messages to "Support," I kept receiving the same responses (not enough information, please provide more information) about - and now the second account! What second account? I used many plugins to monitor sales and connected various subscriptions with programs to facilitate sales. For me, it was like fighting windmills. I will continue to develop the brand, definitely not on the Amazon platform. I have many ideas for collaboration with influencers. The idea is excellent, so I deeply believe that I will develop it. I have a question regarding inventory in their fulfillment centers. How much money will I have to pay for the return of the goods to me? It will be a box 50x50 cm?
