Account deactivated due to linked account

My account on amazon.it, amazon.es and amazon.fr is blocked due to it is linked to suspended account which we do not own. How can I convince amazon it is not our account? It seems to be impossible to prove that you did not do something. Anyone can help

Hi @PerfectPrint1 as Sequin said, there are lots of sellers in the same situation in the UK, Spain, Germany and Italy. We have all been linked to accounts we have never heard of. In a number of cases, it seems to be due to accounts being hacked at the end of 2020 start of 2021. In my case, I was suspended on .de and .pl in May (even though I’ve never sold on there) and my UK account was suspended last week, all were linked to an account called Pr*****Shop which I have no link to.

Have you ever received any emails from Amazon saying “your card details have been changed” even when you’ve not changed them or “We believe that an unauthorized party may have accessed your Amazon.co.uk seller account”, even if it was over 6-12 months ago?

Is this true only if you are registered as a seller on Amazon Europe or is this happening with sellers registered just on Amazon UK also? I am a new seller and it would help to know if I can do something about this before I list my products. Thanks

Thanks @ClaireB I guess nothing seems safe anymore. You’d expect Amazon would admit there is a problem given enough people have reported the issue and add more security controls to prevent this happening.

Oh and the second biggest threat is your staff - making sure they don’t click any links !

It would be huge help if they had a login report list IP Addresses from where you logged in, my external IP addresses are fixed so it would be quick and easy to spot any external access to my account, since increasing email security we have found mails using our domain routed via Amazon but originating elsewhere which get automatically added to our block list for review incase it is a false positive.

I had the same issue. My account been suspended.
Just had another email after appeal. Saying my account is linked to 291465313. What kind of name is 291465313???
First this said my account is linked to ‘carat shop’. Only carat shop i can see sells Harry potter items. Now they say we are linked to 291465313.

Cannot Amazon see these are fake accounts?
Even a child can see 291465313 is not a proper name.

Hello @PerfectPrint1,
.
Thank you for sharing the threads and your insights on this issue @ClaireB.

I understand that your account has been deactivated because of linked accounts.

There are two options for you to reinstate your account.

  1. You need to try to identify which account is related and if you are able to identify it then first the related account should be activated by appealing and then you need to appeal on your current account.

  2. If you believe there is no related account and your account has been deactivated in error then provide evidence as documentation that you own only a single account.

However, accounts would be marked as related only after a proper investigation.

I would encourage you to check the threads which are shared for better understanding on the issue.

You need to do investigation from your end and try to identify the related account!

Feel free to post on seller forum platform for more help!

Regards,
Hermione.
