New GS1 UPCs not recognized by Amazon – need help from Mods or Catalog Team
We recently purchased a new set of GTIN/UPC codes directly from GS1 US (Company Prefix: 0850077253) for our brand Merry Minis. All codes are active, compliant, and properly registered. We’ve verified everything with GS1 — they confirmed that the issue is not on their end.
However, when trying to create new product listings, we consistently receive the following error:
“The SKU does not match any ASIN and contains invalid value(s) for attributes required for creation of a new ASIN.”
We submitted the required documentation to Seller Support — including our GS1 Company Prefix Certificate and screenshot from GS1 US Data Hub — but we keep receiving generic responses stating that the UPC is invalid.
This appears to be part of a broader, system-level issue affecting sellers with new GS1 prefixes, where Amazon's backend does not properly recognize recently registered UPCs.
📌 Case ID: 18038959311
We are the brand owner, manufacturer, and the GS1 prefix licensee.
We’ve seen that other sellers are reporting the same problem, such as in this thread:

Could this please be escalated to the GTIN Validation or Catalog team?
