Amazon Unauthorized Refunds – Urgent Issue
We have noticed a huge number of refunds—nearly 63 orders in just one month, where Amazon has refunded customers without any return request or communication from the buyer.
How We Discovered This Issue
It first came to our attention four weeks ago when a customer brought a PC into our store for repairs. Upon checking his order, we realized that he had already been refunded in full—yet he still had the item. We assume he may have contacted Amazon Live Chat and got a refund without returning the product.
After investigating further, we found that Amazon did send a refund notification email to our Amazon account email, but this was missed because refunds are only processed by our Accounts Department—which was unaware Amazon could issue refunds without authorization.
Amazon Refunding Without a Return Request
Amazon is issuing full refunds even when:
❌ No return case is open
❌ No communication from the buyer
❌ No approval from us
How We're Handling It Now
We have now implemented a system where every single email with the word "refund" is manually checked to determine whether it was issued by us or by Amazon. If we find an unauthorized refund, we immediately file a SAFE-T Claim to recover the funds.
The Problem
🔹 We have no idea how long this has been happening—there could be even more cases that were previously overlooked.
🔹 Some claims are approved, while others get denied, requiring appeals.
Advice for Other Sellers
🚨 If you haven't checked for this issue yet, we highly recommend reviewing ALL your refund emails to see if they were genuinely processed by you or if Amazon refunded the customer without your authorization.
