Hi Sellers!

We asked for winning strategies in our Spring Sweepstakes, and you delivered! Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, these top tips from sellers like you can help you thrive this spring and beyond. Let's dive into the first 5 themes we saw throughout the event.

1. Master the FBA-FBM Balance

Many successful sellers utilize a strategic combination of Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM) options to optimize their operations. Understanding when to leverage each fulfillment method can be beneficial for sellers looking to maximize efficiency and profitability.

💬 Seller Insight: "Do not FBA everything. Wait to see what sells well via FBM and only FBA those items that sell well."

Key Takeaways:

  • Consider testing new products with FBM, and moving best-sellers to FBA
  • Consider maintaining flexibility with multiple fulfillment options
  • Choose the best option based on your specific items and business needs

📚 Resources for you:

2. Plan Ahead for Seasonal Success

Smart seasonal planning can make or break your Q2 performance. Start early and think regionally.

💬 Seller Insights: "Spring happens in phases across the country. May want to adjust shipping templates accordingly depending on where you are."...."Lead Time Buffer: Ship spring‑critical SKUs early so stock lands by March. Safety Stock: Increase buffer to 45–60 days for top spring sellers."

Key Takeaways:

  • Begin preparations 2-3 months in advance
  • Account for regional climate differences
  • Create a buffer for extended FBA receiving times (up to 6-8 weeks)

📚 Resources for you:

3. Boost Visibility with Strategic Marketing

Great products need great visibility. Optimize your listings and advertising for maximum impact.

💬 Seller Insight: "I've learned that even the best product won't sell if no one sees it. What I wish I knew early is how important ad strategy is."

Key Takeaways:

  • Invest time in optimizing listings with strong images and keywords
  • Use PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising strategically and monitor costs carefully
  • Take advantage of promotional opportunities and focus on building brand presence

📚 Resources for you:

4. Grow Smartly and Sustainably

Avoid overextending by starting small and scaling based on real data.

💬 Seller Insight: "As a newcomer, go slow, don't invest too much into the platform. Start with small MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity), see what sells, keep the flow going of that product."

Key Takeaways:

  • Test products with minimal inventory at first
  • Use sales data to guide expansion
  • Learn from small mistakes to avoid big ones

📚 Resources for you:

5. Master Your Financials

Understanding and controlling your costs is crucial for long-term success.

💬 Seller Insights: "Know your numbers when it comes to running ads. Aim for TACOS (ad spend divided by revenue) of less than 10% as a rough rule of thumb."..."Watch your margins. It's easy to get excited by sales and forget about fees, shipping, returns, and ads. Keep a simple spreadsheet or system to make sure you're not losing money on what looks like a 'win.'"

Key Takeaways:

  • Calculate all fees before listing (storage, advertising, shipping)
  • Monitor and optimize advertising spend
  • Regularly review and adjust pricing strategies

📚 Resources for you:

Your Turn to Shine! Which of these strategies resonates most with your business? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below or start a new discussion in the forums. Let's learn from each other and make this spring our best selling season yet!

I learned from the Seller University that if an order remains unpaid for more than 21 days, it will be automatically cancelled.

I sought help through the case.I understood their meaning, but when I first contacted their colleagues, I was told to wait for 24 hours. I waited, but the problem still wasn't solved. The second time I contacted them, I was informed that I needed to wait for 24 to 48 hours. I followed their instructions. The third time, they told me to wait until May 12th. I still followed their instructions. Now, they are asking me to wait for another 24 hours. In my opinion, this seems rather unfair.

Why doesn't Amazon allow us to rate buyers?
by Seller_1m0gWedaWLV4x

Some buyers deceive by claiming they didn't receive the product or that it arrived defective, and I'm sure they do this often. Some buyers already know the system and even threaten to leave you a bad rating or even report you for a violation to get you to agree to process the refund. Amazon should do something about these buyers. Amazon should play its role of protecting both parties in the transaction.

AMAZON-FRUSTRATION HUB
by Seller_2m5dZLVqEyKzO

I’m seriously frustrated right now. Wondering if anyone else has faced something similar...

So the amount reimbursed to me for IDs: 17821554771 and 17933085351 don’t even cover my purchase price, let alone the prep and other costs involved.

I’ve submitted invoices several times, opened cases with seller support, nothing’s worked.

What’s worse: for the same ASIN, I got twice the amount reimbursed just a month ago:

ID: 17615481671 (March 27, 2025)

ID: 17443276851 (March 10, 2025)

Now suddenly, the per-unit reimbursement has dropped to almost half, even though:

The ASIN price has gone up

My selling price has gone up

Other sellers are also listing it higher

Feels like a total black box right now. Is AI calculating reimbursements now or what?

Amazon doesn’t seem to care about the time, effort, and prep costs we sellers put in—and I’m honestly tired of chasing this.

Anyone know how to get this escalated or reviewed properly? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

We’ve been dealing with a persistent issue with our product (ASIN B07H8MLK5P – C8C10 MCT oil) and haven’t been able to get any answers or resolution.

When we send inventory into FBA, some of it gets listed and sells, but then without warning the rest is eventually flagged as “defective.”

It doesn’t always happen right away, but it always ends up in unfulfillable status. The pattern is clear, but the reason is not.

We’ve checked every detail:

  • Barcodes are correct
  • Packaging is compliant
  • Product is sealed, clean, and fully compliant

Despite this, the units are pulled from sellable inventory and sidelined with no explanation.

We opened a case (ID 17566883841) and finally got an answer that the inventory was being quarantined.

We were told to submit an appeal to the Inventory Appeals team along with supporting documents.

We did that on April 21, including:

  • Product images
  • Invoices
  • Compliance documentation

We received no response. We then submitted a second appeal on May 10, this time with an added Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in case hazmat classification was part of the issue.

It’s now May 13, and we’ve still heard nothing. We can’t afford to keep sending inventory in that ends up in quarantine or marked defective, especially without understanding why this is happening.

The lack of clarity is costing us revenue and making planning impossible.

Can someone please help escalate this or provide insight into: Why ASIN B07H8MLK5P is intermittently allowed to sell and then suddenly flagged and why the Inventory Appeals team hasn't responded after two submissions?

We’re doing everything we can to stay compliant. We just need clear direction. Any help from moderators or experienced sellers would be greatly appreciated.

Product Authenticity Complaints invoice rejected
by Seller_LHgpVoPOdU4tX

I have a Product Authenticity Complaint for an item that was last restocked FBA over 1 year ago. The problem I have is that Amazon won't accept my invoice for the inventory because it's over 1 year old. How can they expect me to provide an invoice for an item that was sent in them over 1 year ago? Any ideas on how to handle this?

Why does Amazon monitor Pricing?
by Seller_JnQAt1N89ZeNI

So it seems like more often than not, some issue arises with Amazon thinking a price on a product is too high for their liking. As my question states, why? If the buyer wants a product and is willing to pay a set price, why should they care. A transaction requires 2 parties. One with something for sale at a price they want or need. The other party that is wanting to exercise their purchasing power and acquire something. Amazon make 15 percent no matter the price, so why do they need to monitor pricing? What two consenting parties do should be between them. I just don't get it.

I saw mods posting about Generic policy violations. I've reported several issues of Generic branding violations that are very clear violations, but Amazon hasn't done anything.

@Seller_8hQgfj6OVZYse or @Seller_l7Jtck9jxnEA0 -- Is there anything that can be done? I used the "Report an issue with this product or seller" button. Nothing happened.

ASINs that are misbranded as Generic (same product, same seller): B0DR34JLQQ & B0DQ2B77FW

This product is an "ODI" branded number plate. It's very clear that's the case because the ODI logo is on the item in the main image. The real ASIN is B07KMKMMZK. However, this seller created their own Generic brand duplicates of this branded product.

You can also verify by looking at the brand owners website who manufacturer's this item by Google searching "ODI Number Plate" and the first result from the brand owner's website (ODI Grips) will clearly show those two ASINs are Generic violations.

Brand registry denial is dumb
by Seller_kZvm6BR3doXxX
Amazon replied

Brand registry keeps denying my application. Case number 17695179131. Who is the person to help me figure out why?

The list of reasons are always the same and I'm just supposed to pick one I think it might be and change my life or something?

Like, it's my trademark, I own it, and there is no reason to deny my application.

I have "appealed" it so many times and it's always the same answer.
