Hi Sellers!

We asked for winning strategies in our Spring Sweepstakes, and you delivered! Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, these top tips from sellers like you can help you thrive this spring and beyond. Let's dive into the first 5 themes we saw throughout the event.

1. Master the FBA-FBM Balance

Many successful sellers utilize a strategic combination of Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM) options to optimize their operations. Understanding when to leverage each fulfillment method can be beneficial for sellers looking to maximize efficiency and profitability.

💬 Seller Insight: "Do not FBA everything. Wait to see what sells well via FBM and only FBA those items that sell well."

Key Takeaways:

  • Consider testing new products with FBM, and moving best-sellers to FBA
  • Consider maintaining flexibility with multiple fulfillment options
  • Choose the best option based on your specific items and business needs

📚 Resources for you:

2. Plan Ahead for Seasonal Success

Smart seasonal planning can make or break your Q2 performance. Start early and think regionally.

💬 Seller Insights: "Spring happens in phases across the country. May want to adjust shipping templates accordingly depending on where you are."...."Lead Time Buffer: Ship spring‑critical SKUs early so stock lands by March. Safety Stock: Increase buffer to 45–60 days for top spring sellers."

Key Takeaways:

  • Begin preparations 2-3 months in advance
  • Account for regional climate differences
  • Create a buffer for extended FBA receiving times (up to 6-8 weeks)

📚 Resources for you:

3. Boost Visibility with Strategic Marketing

Great products need great visibility. Optimize your listings and advertising for maximum impact.

💬 Seller Insight: "I've learned that even the best product won't sell if no one sees it. What I wish I knew early is how important ad strategy is."

Key Takeaways:

  • Invest time in optimizing listings with strong images and keywords
  • Use PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising strategically and monitor costs carefully
  • Take advantage of promotional opportunities and focus on building brand presence

📚 Resources for you:

4. Grow Smartly and Sustainably

Avoid overextending by starting small and scaling based on real data.

💬 Seller Insight: "As a newcomer, go slow, don't invest too much into the platform. Start with small MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity), see what sells, keep the flow going of that product."

Key Takeaways:

  • Test products with minimal inventory at first
  • Use sales data to guide expansion
  • Learn from small mistakes to avoid big ones

📚 Resources for you:

5. Master Your Financials

Understanding and controlling your costs is crucial for long-term success.

💬 Seller Insights: "Know your numbers when it comes to running ads. Aim for TACOS (ad spend divided by revenue) of less than 10% as a rough rule of thumb."..."Watch your margins. It's easy to get excited by sales and forget about fees, shipping, returns, and ads. Keep a simple spreadsheet or system to make sure you're not losing money on what looks like a 'win.'"

Key Takeaways:

  • Calculate all fees before listing (storage, advertising, shipping)
  • Monitor and optimize advertising spend
  • Regularly review and adjust pricing strategies

📚 Resources for you:

Your Turn to Shine! Which of these strategies resonates most with your business? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below or start a new discussion in the forums. Let's learn from each other and make this spring our best selling season yet!

Some items I sell, need about 50-100 available via FBA at all times. I have about 300-500 in my own small shop. So I plan on sending all 300-500 into AWD, and they will feed FBA on an As Needed, basis. I sell about 100 of these per month.

But, what about products that I have a small amount of? Some ASIN's I only move 10 or 20 per month, so my plan is usually to send those 10 or 20, each month, into FBA.

Instead, should I be sending those low volume items into AWD also?

Basically, when should I decide whether or not to send an ASIN into FBA vs AWD?

Hello fellow sellers,

I’m reaching out to the community because I’m at a loss and hoping someone has dealt with something similar—or that Amazon takes notice.

My seller account was deactivated nearly three years ago due to a policy violation related to product dimension discrepancies. Since then:

I’ve submitted multiple appeals, including a detailed plan of action.

I’ve taken concrete corrective steps, including purchasing certified measuring equipment, retraining staff, and conducting a full SKU audit—even without access to my Seller Central account.

Despite showing full cooperation, Amazon continues to hold my funds, which have now been frozen for almost 36 months.

At this point, I’m not only asking for reinstatement—I’m asking for fairness.

If an account is not being reinstated after a good faith effort and no new violations, it is only right to release the funds that belong to the seller.

I know others in the community have faced similar situations. Have any of you been able to resolve something like this? Did you escalate it outside the platform?

Any advice, contacts, or next steps would be truly appreciated.

Amazon, if you're reading this: Please don’t ignore good-faith sellers. We’re here trying to do the right thing.

Thank you.

Hello,

To improve the accuracy of weight and dimension inputs for domestic US Amazon Partnered Carrier shipments, notifications in Seller Central inform you when carriers find differences between the measurements that you enter and your shipment's actual measurements.

If the measured weight, dimensions, or freight class (when applicable) of your small parcel or less-than-truckload shipment differs from what you provided at shipment creation, you see a notification in the Inbound Performance dashboard.

Starting on June 12, 2025, these measurement differences will result in a fee adjustment including a credit to your account if your provided measurements were too high or a charge if they were too low.

You can view your measurement differences by following these steps:

Go to the Inbound Performance dashboard.

Select Inaccurate transportation weight/dims under Defect group.

Click View details to see the specific measurement difference.

For more information, go to Amazon Partnered Carrier program FAQ.

Policy Contradiction or Am I Just Crazy?
by Seller_CA70ZtA5VBcto

Guidelines are 100% of item price is materially different on restocking fee guidelines. But SAFE-T claim only says 50%. So if a return falls outside RFS, we can do 100%, but if RFS, we only get 50% back? So a buyer orders a lawn mower and returns a book, only 50% through SAFE-T claim?

I feel like in 20 years we'll see a documentary on Amazon and part of it will be how they recharged buyers in this instance and only credit sellers 50% back, pocketing the rest. Wouldn't surprise me.

Does SCK8 not have any employees?
by Seller_e7moCNdRuuijP

Does SCK8 not have any employees? Let me work there. Based on this pace, I believe I can do the work of three people by myself. Fire those three slackers quickly and hire me instead.

Busines Location is Blocked
by Seller_k6gYelIhnWQt6
Amazon replied

Hello

I'm currently selling as a sole proprietor Canadian citizen. Meanwhile, I've registered my business in USA and want to upgrade my Amazon seller account from individual details to business.

However, when I clicked on legal entity and tried to put my USA Registered business details then found that business location is blocked and I can't select USA as a business location.

Please note that my business was not registered anywhere before. This is the first time that I wanted to update information from individual to business. While, opening account few years back I didn't put business details but put the Canadian identity only to open seller account.

Have opened case but support team did't resolve it yet.

Kindly assist to UNBLOCK Business location in Legal entity so I can update business information.

Listing Suspension Catch 22
by Seller_yzZ8Bn2WKfDj3
Amazon replied

We’re stuck, our listing has been suspended because four customers claimed that it didn’t work.

Account health are telling us that we need to update the listing in order to get it out of its suspension.

Seller support are telling us they can’t change it untill the listing is out of its suspension.

Flat files are throwing up an unspecified error.

Brand registry are saying they can’t do anything because there’s an active appeal.

This has been going on for the best part of a month, we’re losing close to a thousand dollars a day in profit and will struggle to pay staff this month.

We were able to take the impact of tariffs on the chin, but with this sucker punch from the inside we’re not sure if we’ll survive. Losing hair trying to get it fixed, but it feels like we’re banging heads against a wall.

Please, please help.

2 Opened Returns and an A-Z on same order
by Seller_SbXlRaOk8dHSH

We had a buyer open 2 returns for the same order on different dates, all our returns are auto authorized. The buyer also filed an A-Z after these returns were opened. The A-Z was temporarily withdrawn by Amazon. The buyer purchased shipping for the item and did not use either of the provided return labels. Buyer was refunded but Amazon still counted the A-Z against our metrics!

This is crazy. The buyer made it more difficult on themselves, us and also affects our metrics negatively!!!

We do not even have the option to appeal the A-Z decision, customer support opened a case for appeal on our behalf.

Any Amazon mods that can look into this? Case #17724311261 and 17742136171.
