After several years selling on Amazon - and putting a way bigger share into Amazon's coffers than my own - I'm finally about to make my escape. I cannot even put into words the sense of relief I feel at leaving, even if winding up is barely any easier than selling!

My products have always been first rate and competitively priced. I've been an extremely honourable and diligent seller. But I'm sick of being treated otherwise by Amazon.

No longer will I allow myself to be treated like a worthless minion instead of a respectable seller. For far too long I've scanned my in box with a lingering feeling of dread, waiting for the next unjust infringement to land there. And as 'unjust' as it might be, how long might it take to prove my innocence, how many documents will I have to scan and submit and resubmit and resubmit and resubmit, how many times will I be rejected by a badly-programmed bot or ill-trained human who likes to say 'no' just because they can, without consequence to themselves?

Even if you're an outstanding seller - for all the right reasons - you WILL eventually fall foul of some convoluted non-sensical regulation or other, or face false accusation from a dishonest buyer or unethical competitor. Failing that Amazon's uncoordinated, unwieldy system will trip you up somewhere along the line. Try fighting for compensation, for instance, when your FBA products encounter an anomalous price-drop through no fault of your own. It's unlikely such compensation will ever materialise and more likely you'll be beaten into weary submission in the end.

To those of you just starting out I'd strongly advise, "Do yourself a huge favour and quit while you're still ahead. You probably won't be for long. No amount of money is worth the hassle you've got headed your way."

All it remains to say is "Happy New Year" fellow beleaguered sellers and "Toodaloo MF" to Amazon!

disbursements Christmas 2024

Has anyone else had a problem disbursing over christmas, I am still on daily and I have disbursed and the button is now greyed out, if I click again it says I cannot disburse again, but the amount is still sitting there 24 hrs later.

Hello all, I applied for VAT refund to HMRC based on Amazon VAT Invoices. HMRC issued an official letter which stated that my UK company is NETP (non-established taxable person) and Amazon should have never applied VAT on any invoices issued to my company (VAT on ads, commissions etc.). HMRC also stated unequivocally that Amazon must reimburse me for the overpaid VAT.

Currently, I have over 13.000 GBP due from Amazon and Amazon refuses to refund this VAT amount in clear violation of HMRC's order.

Here is the reason: Amazon requires me to have the same business address across Seller Central, VAT invoices, VAT Certificate, and Certificate of Incorporation since 2021. Whoever invented this requirement will cost Amazon millions for non-compliance with HMRC rules and orders. Here is why this requirement is wrong and cannot be met by any NETP UK company:

1. My NETP UK company has changed UK office address three times since 2021, all can be tracked through Companies House registries. After all address changes, Seller Central information was updated accordingly. Amazon reuires me to match all addresses across Seller Central, VAT invoices, VAT Certificate, and Certificate of Incorporation since 2021. How is this possible if there is an address change?

2. When HMRC registers NETP UK companies for VAT, they use non-UK foreign addresses in the VAT Certificate. There is simply no way for HMRC to put the Companies House address in VAT certificate, so they used my Turkish address where I run my day-to-day business. On the other hand, Amazon's system does not allow UK companies to put non-UK addresses in their system (please see attached screenshot). So all VAT invoices were issued to my company's UK address. How could I possibly put the same non-UK address to the Seller Central while Amazon's system does not allow it?

3. Amazon also requires the address on the Certificate of Incorporation to match the VAT certificate and Seller Central business address information. However, Companies House only registers UK companies with a UK address. Here below is a screenshot when you try to register or change the address of a UK company using a non-UK address:

Seller Support has been unhelpful because they do not read and understand anything.

In summary, Companies House uses UK address in the registry for NETP UK companies, HMRC on the other hand uses non-UK address for NETP UK companies and Amazon wants me to match all addresses across different documents to be the same for the last 4 years.

I need your help to get this issue resolved for good. Thank you.

Hi

I am the accountant for a UK startup company, selling exclusively via Amazon.

In just over a year sales have gone from zero to around £300k.

To improve profitability, we designed and sourced our own products and were selling in the UK and USA.

And then, mid November, our seller account was deactivated. The authenticity of one low  value product, representing a tiny percentage of our sales, was questioned.

For over a month, we have been submitting appeals and chasing via calls.

We have provided several documents, which clearly demonstrate our supply chain, from the international manufacturer onwards to us and the authenticity of the product in question.

Meanwhile, we have been unable to sell and thousands of pounds worth of our stock and cash are held in limbo by Amazon.

There is absolutely no justification for the deactivation of our account and Amazon are now threatening the future of our business.

Before exploring legal routes to obtain a remedy, can anyone from Amazon help us?

A-Z case denied

I am absolutely furious with Amazon.

A buyer opened an A-Z stating item wasn't delivered, despite the tracking showing as delivered well within timeframe.

Tracking was uploaded at time of dispatch too.

Amazon then granted the buyer the A-Z and funded her out of our funds.

I appealed the A-Z and provided date and time it was delivered and a image of the official tracking page which Amazon have access to.

Despite this evidence, Amazon denied my appeal stating not sufficient evidence.

What on earth is going on, the official Royal Mail tracking page shows delivery.

Am I missing something here.

I take this extremely seriously and I will have absolutely no hesitation about taking legal action if this is not resolved.

What is Amazon thinking of as I am baffled.

Is this site not to be trusted to do business on?

All my funds are stuck in Account Level Reserve

Hi

I have seen so many posts about Amazon holding large amount of money in account level reserve. Now all my money is stuck in that reserve. I don't understand because I have paid all the Amazon expenses, yet they are still holding 97% of my money. I need it to pay suppliers and taxes otherwise my business will fail.

How can I resolve this? It's so sad.

Hi all, my product is due to be search suppressed on 03/01/2025 due to missing unit count, I have tried fixing this through the fix your products page and inputting the unit count and unit count type, when I click save it says submitted but I've been trying for days now and the listing isn't been updated - any advice?

The product is a 30ml bottle of fragrance oil, I've tried both combinations of unit count 30 with unit type millilitres and unit count 1 with unit type count but no luck.

I attempted disbursement last night It confirmed it was successful but when I checked I had not been sent the usual disbursement confirmation email PLUS the disbursement showed ,...no disbursement was made.

I assumed I had made an error so over 24 hours later, ie so eligible for a disbursement. I actioned a £810 disbursement and I enclose screenshots which confirmed I had "successful initiated transfer" ie the same message I have always received in the past.

BUT again it then showed the full amount (including the £810) was in my balance and on checking it stated that "no disbursement made"

Confusing as initially it confirmed that the disbursement had been successful and then a minute later completely cancelled out the disbursements

I have only had issue with disbursement before when the changeover to the "7 day balance" came into play a couple months ag

The £810 I have tried to disburse was funds from over 7 days ago so completely eligible to be disbursed

Can anyone help this

Initially Amazon gave the £810 as available to disburse (even confirmed it was successful)

I am not able to edit my listing...

Or to send in inventory...

Because it shows me "Listing acquires approval before selling" message.

Even though this is a normal, private-label supplement...

Which is NOT listed in the category of products requiring approval for selling.

To make matters more confusing....

I only have this on around 9/13 products...

Which clearly means there is some kind of error on Amazons side.

Especially when you consider that the 4 products that DIDNT require approval, are variations of those that did...

Can anybody help fix this please?

I've been talking to Seller Support for 10 days now, with no solution near sight.
